This study developed an estimation routine for counting the viable cells in an in vitro fed-batch Chinese hamster ovary cultivation that relies on off-gas information and inlet gas mixture knowledge. We computed the oxygen uptake rate bound to the bioreactor exhaust gas outlet when the inlet gas mixture was stationary. Our mammalian biosynthesis analysis determined the stoichiometric parameters as a function of the average population age. We cross-validated an identical algorithm for mammalian and microbial cultivations and found that the' 99% confidence band of the model generally overlapped with the error bars defined from observations. The resulting RMSE and MAE averages were 0.188 and 0.14ecells L, respectively, when estimating the viable mammalian cell count. The validation for the estimation of total bacterial biomass yielded an MAE and RMSE of 1.78 g L and 2.53 g L, respectively. Moreover, our proposed approach provides an online estimation of the average population age for both aerobically cultivated microorganisms.

Background/objective: Calcium channel blockers, when taken in overdose quantities, can cause hyperglycemia requiring so-called hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic therapy. The objective of this report was to describe a patient with calcium channel blocker toxicity resulting from overdose of amlodipine.
Case Report: A 74-year-old man presented with a fall and loss of consciousness.
Chronic heart failure (CHF) represents one of the most severe and advanced stages of cardiovascular disease. Despite the critical importance of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) in CHF management, while studies have explored the effectiveness of various CR delivery modes and offered valuable context-specific insights, their relative efficacy remains inconsistent across different patient groups, healthcare environments, and intervention approaches. A clearer understanding requires comprehensive comparisons and in-depth analyses to address these variations.

Unlabelled: Although exercise is medicine for outpatients with schizophrenia, it is unclear if one-year adherence-supported exercise leads to a "tipping point", at which the exercise becomes a routine manifested as life-long training in the patient group.
Methods: Forty-eight outpatients (28 men/20 women: 35 ± 11 (mean ± SD) years) with schizophrenia (ICD-10: F20-29) were randomised to: 1) collaborative care group (TG), performing aerobic interval (AIT; 4 × 4-min treadmill walking/running at ∼90 % peak heart rate) and leg press maximal strength training (MST; 4 × 4 repetitions at ∼90 % maximal strength [1RM]) 2d·wk. for 1-year, supported by transportation and training supervision; or 2) control group (CG).

Desiccation tolerance is a complex phenomenon observed in the lichen Flavoparmelia ceparata. To understand the reactivation process of desiccated thalli, completely dried samples were rehydrated. The rehydration process of this lichen occurs in two phases.
