Background: Gastrointestinal illnesses are common during military training and operational deployments. We compared the incidence and burden of travellers' diarrhoea (TD) reported by British service personnel (SP) during recent training exercises in Kenya and Oman.
Methods: SP completed a validated anonymous questionnaire regarding clinical features of any diarrhoeal illness, associated risk factors and impact on work capability after 6-week training exercises in 2018 in Kenya and 2018-2019 in Oman.

While genome-wide association studies have identified genetic risk factors that implicate underlying pathways, the influence of genetic susceptibility on disease characteristics or treatment response is incompletely understood. RNA-seq technology has been widely used for the characterization of the transcriptome profile induced by several diseases in both humans and animals. In the present study, RNA-seq was used to identify the differential expression of genes associated with the immune response in cattle infected with two different strains of , both derived from the same Mexican field isolate, which exhibit distinct phenotypic characteristics: the virulent strain, capable of producing acute clinical signs, and the attenuated strain, capable of stimulating a protective immune response when used as an immunogen with an efficacy greater than 80%. The differential gene expression analysis performed revealed a total of 620 differentially expressed genes (DEGs).

Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of drug-eluting beads transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(DEB-TACE) combined with systemic chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors in the treatment of unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
Methods: This study used retrospective cohort analysis to collect the clinical data of 209 patients with unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma treated in Linyi Cancer Hospital, Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University, Affiliated Central Hospital of Dalian University of Technology from January 2020 to January 2024. The patients were divided into observation group and control group based on their treatment plans.
