This Therapeutic Letter considers the evidence for inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) as a treatment for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Drug therapy aims to alleviate symptoms, enhance functional capacity and prevent exacerbations, but has not consistently shown to reduce mortality or improve quality of life based on randomised trials.Inhaled corticosteroids have shown limited benefits for COPD symptoms and exacerbations but increased risks of serious harms.

Introduction: Fentanyl and xylazine test strips (FTS, XTS) are simple point-of-care tests that determine the presence of fentanyl or xylazine in a substance before use. Access to FTS and XTS is limited. For pharmacists who are willing to sell an FTS, there is little guidance about how to implement FTS sales and counseling as no training for community pharmacists regarding FTS and XTS exists.

Background: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are one of the most common sports injuries, accounting for approximately 50% of knee-related injuries. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), in the form of the radial (R-SWT) or focused shockwave (F-SWT), has been shown effective in treating various orthopaedic conditions.
