Aims: The objective of this case series was to examine the feasibility of vibrotactile EMG-based biofeedback (BF) as a home-based intervention tool to enhance sensory information during everyday motor activities and to explore its effectiveness to induce changes in active ankle range of motion during gait in children with spastic cerebral palsy (CP).
Methods: Ten children ages 6 to 13 years with spastic CP were recruited. Participants wore two EMG-based vibro-tactile BF devices for at least 4 hours per day for 1-month on the ankle and knee joints muscles. The device computed the amplitude of the EMG signal of the target muscle and actuated a silent vibration motor proportional to the magnitude of the EMG.
Results: Our results demonstrated the feasibility of the augmented sensory information of muscle activity to induce changes of the active ankle range of motion during gait for 6 children with an increase ranging from 8.9 to 51.6% compared to a one-month period without treatment.
Conclusions: Preliminary findings of this case series demonstrate the feasibility of vibrotactile EMG-based BF and suggest potential effectiveness to increase active ankle range of motion, therefore serving as a promising therapeutic tool to improve gait in children with spastic CP.

Many theories on cognitive effort start from the assumption that cognitive effort can be expended at will, and flexibly up- or down-regulated depending on expected task demand and rewards. However, while effort regulation has been investigated across a wide range of incentive conditions, few investigated the cost of effort regulation itself. Across four experiments, we studied the effects of reward expectancy and task difficulty on effort expenditure in a perceptual decision-making task (random-dot-motion) and a cognitive control task (colour-naming Stroop), and within each task comparted cues between short (cueing the next trial) and long (cueing the next six trials) prediction horizons.

Amputation results in a loss of sensory feedback and alterations in gait biomechanics, including co-contractions of antagonist muscles about the knee and ankle, and reduced pelvic obliquity range-of-motion and pelvic drop. SCS can restore sensation in the missing limb, but its effects on muscle activation and gait biomechanics have not been studied in people with lower-limb amputation.

Objective: There are several conservative treatment options for adhesive capsulitis (AC), but no previous study combines hydrodilation, corticosteroid injection and joint manipulation under sedation (triple procedure), followed by daily home exercises.
Methods: Patients included were evaluated before the procedure, at 30 days, 3, 6 and 12 months after treatment in prospective cohort. The outcomes used were the ASES, UCLA, SANE, VAS scales and passive range of motion (ROM).
