Objectives: To explore how motor control interventions are conceptualised during treatment of children with idiopathic toe walking (ITW) by physiotherapists in Australia and USA.
Design: A thematic content framework qualitative design was used to triangular the theories underpinning motor control interventions and participant responses.
Participants: Ten paediatric physiotherapists were recruited from Australia and USA. Participation was only open to physiotherapists who provided treatment to children with ITW.
Results: Physiotherapists defined the motor control interventions used for children with ITW as having the following non-hierarchical key elements: . Physiotherapists also described two superordinate themes; ( and (.
Conclusions: Treatment of ITW continues to challenge clinicians. Physiotherapists viewed their approach to ITW management being evidence- informed, underpinned by motor learning theories, movement strategies and organisational treatment frameworks or guidelines to fit their individual childrens' needs. Future research should investigate if this approach affords more favourable outcomes for children with ITW gait.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has increasingly been used to modify cortical maladaptive plastic changes shown to occur in fibromyalgia (FM) and to correlate with symptoms. Evidence for its efficacy is currently inconclusive, mainly due to heterogeneity of stimulation parameters used in trials available to date. Here, we reviewed the current evidence on the use of rTMS for FM control in the format of a narrative review, in which a systematic dissection of the different stimulation parameters would be possible.

Accessibility to developmental interventions for children and adolescents could be increased through virtual, at-home delivery of training programs. Virtual childhood training programs and their effects on cognitive outcomes have not been well studied. To that end, this study examined the effects of the at-home Brain Balance® (BB) program on the cognitive task performance of children and adolescents with baseline developmental and attentional difficulties.

Sensory feedback is crucial for motor control as it establishes the internal representation of motion. This study investigates changes in sensory feedback in hemiparetic stroke by analyzing the laterality index (LI) of somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) during movements of the paretic arm, focusing on a shift from the lesioned to the contralesional hemisphere. Three chronic stroke participants performed isometric lifts of their paretic arms at two different levels of their maximum voluntary contraction while receiving tactile finger stimulation.

Liddle syndrome, a rare form of monogenic hypertension, poses significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to its phenotypic variability and the need for genetic testing. The rarity of the condition, coupled with the limited availability of first-line treatments such as epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) blockers, makes this case report particularly urgent and novel, highlighting alternative management strategies in resource-limited settings. The aim of this case report was to present the diagnostic challenges, therapeutic strategies, and clinical outcomes of a patient with Liddle syndrome who did not have access to ENaC blockers, emphasizing the importance of early recognition and personalized treatment.

Background And Purpose: Children with myopathies often experience muscle weakness in their lower limbs. However, the upper limbs are also affected and, at the same time, play a key role in daily living activities as well as in transfers and assisted mobility using auxiliary devices. The objective was to assess the performance of the elbow flexor and extensor muscles through static and dynamic contractions in children with myopathies and in their typical peers.
