Four new Cu(II)-based hexagonal complexes with the metallomacrocycle formulae [Cu(5-nip)(3-py)(HO)] (), [Cu(5-nip)(3-Clpy)(HO)] (), [Cu(5-nip)(3-Brpy)(HO)] (), and [Cu(5-nip)(3-Ipy)(HO)] () have been synthesized using 5-nitroisophthalic acid (H5-nip) and pyridine (py)/3-halopyridine (3-Xpy; X = Cl, Br, and I) ligands. The structural features and supramolecular interactions of compounds - have been investigated using the single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) technique. Interestingly, the hexagonal complexes undergo hydrogen bonding and π···π stacking interactions to form fascinating two-dimensional (2D) honeycomb-like structures. The synthesized complexes exhibit high electrical conductivity, arising from charge transport through space via π···π contacts. However, complexes containing 3-Brpy () and 3-Ipy () exhibit photosensitivity due to the presence of halogens with a larger size and lower ionization energy. The conductivity results are also in accordance with the theoretical prediction calculated by density functional theory (DFT) study.

Background: The therapeutic management of dementia with Lewy bodies (LBD) is a challenge given the high sensitivity to drugs in this disease. This is particularly sensitive with regard to the management of parkinsonism. In particular, treatment of motor symptoms with levodopa or dopaminergic agonists poses a risk of worsening cognitive and behavioral symptoms.

Background: Vaxxinity is developing an active immunotherapy targeting Tau for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other tauopathies. VXX-301 is a multi-epitope vaccine designed to target the N-terminal and repeat domains of Tau. This design enables targeting multiple forms of Tau thought to contribute to Tau associated pathologies.

Background: Alzheimer's Disease (AD) poses a substantial global health burden, necessitating innovative therapeutic strategies. This study investigates the neuroprotective potential of a chrysin-loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carrier (NLC) drug delivery system in AD management. Employing the high-pressure homogenization method, chrysin-loaded NLCs were meticulously formulated to optimize drug delivery efficiency.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the impairment of cognitive development and disruption of neurocognitive function. This neuropathological condition is marked by neurodegeneration, loss of neural tissue, and the formation of neurofibrillary tangles and Aβ plaques. Various studies reported the utilization of phytoconstituents like fisetin, quercetin, berberine, and xanthohumol for the treatment of AD.
