Ferroptosis, characterized by lipid peroxidation and intracellular iron accumulation, has been reported to be involving in the pathophysiological of early brain injury (EBI) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Although taurine reportedly yields neuroprotective effects in multiple central neurological diseases and can attenuated neuron damage after stroke, its role in EBI after SAH remains unclear. The present study indicated that taurine levels in cerebrospinal fluid were significantly reduced in SAH patients, which suggested that taurine treatment after SAH could improve neurological impairment, oxidative stress, iron accumulation, BBB integrity and neuronal ferroptosis in the SAH model in vivo. Taurine could attenuate MDA levels and ROS accumulation and regulate the expression of SLC7A11 and GPX4 and the AKT/GSK3β pathway in vitro. GABA receptor inhibition and Ly294002 could reverse the therapeutic effects of taurine and significantly downregulate the levels of p-AKT, p-GSK3β, β-catenin, SLC7A11 and GPX4. The protective effects of taurine on SLC7A11 and GPX4 expression were reversed by ICG001 treatment in vitro. Taken together, our findings revealed that taurine could improve neurological function and alleviate cerebral edema, oxidative stress and BBB disruption after SAH, which reduced neuronal ferroptosis by regulating the GABA/AKT/GSK3β/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The Daqinjiao decoction (DQJT), a classical prescription, has been utilized for millennia in stroke management, yet its underlying mechanisms remained obscure.
Aim Of The Study: The aim of this study was to elucidate the mechanisms through which DQJT mitigates cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (CI/RI).
Materials And Methods: The quantification of DQJT's primary components were performed by HPLC.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a common cerebrovascular disease characterized by a high incidence, disability rate, and mortality. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a key catechin compound found in green tea, has received increasing attention for its potential neuroprotective and therapeutic effects in neurological disorders. Studies have indicated that EGCG may influence various signaling pathways and molecular targets, including the inhibition of oxidative stress, reduction of inflammatory responses, suppression of cell apoptosis, regulation of cell survival, and enhancement of autophagy.

Objective: This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms by which nanovesicles (NVs) transport curcumin(CUR) across the blood-brain barrier to treat hypothalamic neural damage induced by heat stroke by regulating the expression of poly(c)-binding protein 2 (PCBP2).
Methods: Initially, NVs were prepared from macrophages using a continuous extrusion method. Subsequently, CUR was loaded into NVs using sonication, yielding engineered cell membrane Nanovesicles loaded with curcumin (NVs-CUR), which were characterized and subjected to in vitro and in vivo tracking analysis.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the neuroprotective effect of propofol in improving traumatic brain injury (TBI) by inhibiting ferroptosis through the modulation of the endothelial nitric oxide (NO) synthase (eNOS)/NO signaling pathway.
Methods: The GSE173975 dataset was used to analyze the differentially expressed genes between TBI and sham surgery control groups in the short and long term. A TBI model was established in 2-month-old male SPF C57BL/6 mice by impact exposure of the exposed dura mater.
