Recently, several centers have performed total arch replacement using the fenestrated frozen elephant trunk technique for acute Stanford type-A aortic dissection. However, the long-term results and need for additional treatment following this procedure are unclear. We report a case of a 54-year-old man who underwent endovascular therapy for endoleaks after total arch replacement using the fenestrated frozen elephant trunk technique for acute type-A aortic dissection with an isolated left vertebral artery. After the surgery, the endoleak was resolved, and the patient was asymptomatic with no neurological deficits. This strategy might be effective in similar cases.

Glomeruli filter blood through the coordination of podocytes, mesangial cells, fenestrated endothelial cells, and the glomerular basement membrane. Cellular changes, such as podocyte loss, are associated with pathologies like diabetic kidney disease. However, little is known regarding the in situ molecular profiles of specific cell types and how these profiles change with disease.

We describe a new technique for hydrodilatation of the frozen shoulder, which we coined 'Sonographically-Navigated Frozen Shoulder Release (S-FSR)' or 'Dr Gonzalez's technique.' Traditional treatments include a combination of conservative and surgical modalities, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, physical therapy, and open capsular release. We describe a modification to hydrodilatation of the frozen shoulder.

Objective: Percutaneous closure devices for arterial sheaths of sufficient caliber to deliver aortic endografts have a published success rate of 90% to 95%. Despite this, they are frequently avoided in patients with genetic aortopathy due to concern for high failure rates and increased complications in the setting of compromised tissue integrity. This study aims to compare rates of access site complications after large bore percutaneous access among patients with and without confirmed genetic aortopathy.

The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the results of complementary TEVAR following the frozen elephant trunk (FET) procedure for patients with residual type A aortic dissection (rTAAD) in terms of technical feasibility, safety and mid-term outcomes. This was a retrospective single-centre analysis of patients who received TEVAR after FET for rTAAD from January 2012 up to December 2021. The primary endpoint was technical success.
