The complete mitochondrial genome of was sequenced and annotated, and its general features and base composition were analyzed. The mitogenome was 15,896 bp long, comprising 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transport RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 1 control region. The phylogenetic relationships based on the concatenated nucleotide sequences of 17 metagenomes from families Chironomidae, Ceratopogonidae, and Simuliidae were reconstructed. According to the phylogenetic topologies, was closely related to ( + ) in the maximum likelihood tree.

A significant proportion of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data ends up not being used since they comprise information out-of-scope of the primary studies. This 'waste' of potential can be harnessed to explore organellar genomes, such as the mitochondrial DNA, and be used for evolutionary, conservation and biodiversity research. We present the complete mitochondrial genomes of the deep-sea methanotrophic sponges and (Demospongiae, Poecilosclerida) retrieved from previously published whole metagenome sequencing data.

Triplophysa bombifrons, a species of bony fish localized in China, has largely been understudied genetically, with limited data available beyond its mitochondrial genome. This study introduces a chromosome-level genome assembly for T. bombifrons, achieved through the integration of PacBio long-read sequencing and Hi-C chromatin interaction mapping.

Maintenance of protein homeostasis is necessary for cell viability and depends on a complex network of chaperones and co-chaperones, including the heat-shock protein 70 (Hsp70) system. In human mitochondria, mitochondrial Hsp70 (mortalin) and the nucleotide exchange factor (GrpEL1) work synergistically to stabilize proteins, assemble protein complexes, and facilitate protein import. However, our understanding of the molecular mechanisms guiding these processes is hampered by limited structural information.
