Objective: The aim of the current review is to summarize the available evidence to aid clinicians in the surveillance, treatment and follow-up of the different primary tumors developed by patients diagnosed with von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome.
Methods: A non-systematic narrative review of original articles, meta-analyses, and randomized trials was conducted, including articles in the pre-clinical setting to support relevant findings.
Results: VHL disease is the most common rare hereditary disorder associated with clear cell renal cell carcinoma. Affected individuals inherit a germline mutation in one VHL allele, and any somatic event that disrupt the other allele can trigger mutations, chromosomal rearrangements, or epigenetic regulations leading to oncogenesis. From a clinical perspective, patients continuously develop multiple primary tumors.
Conclusion: Because VHL is considered a rare disease, very limited evidence is available for diagnosis, surveillance, active treatment with local or systemic therapy and follow-up.

Objective: Patient characteristics of Cushing's syndrome differ between countries and have not been assessed in the Australian dog population. This study describes signalment and distribution of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)-dependent hypercortisolism (ADH) and ACTH-independent hypercortisolism (AIH) in Australian dogs.
Animals: Two-hundred client-owned dogs that had endogenous ACTH concentrations measured by radioimmunoassay.

Distinct molecular subtypes of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) may show different platinum sensitivities. Currently available data were mostly generated at transcriptome level and have limited comparability to each other. We aimed to determine the platinum sensitivity of molecular subtypes by using the protein expression-based Lund Taxonomy.

Therapeutic hurdles persist in the fight against lung cancer, although it is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Results are still not up to par, even with the best efforts of conventional medicine, thus new avenues of investigation are required. Examining how immunotherapy, precision medicine, and AI are being used to manage lung cancer, this review shows how these tools can change the game for patients and increase their chances of survival.

Background: Breast cancer is a frequently diagnosed malignant disease and the primary cause of mortality among women with cancer worldwide. The therapy options are influenced by the molecular subtype due to the intricate nature of the condition, which consists of various subtypes. By focusing on the activation of receptors, Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase can be utilized as an effective drug target for therapeutic purposes of breast cancer.

Ovarian cancer (OC) ranks as the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, posing a significant threat to female health. Late-stage diagnoses, driven by elusive symptoms often masquerading as gastrointestinal issues, contribute to a concerning 70% of cases being identified in advanced stages. While early-stage OC brags a 90% cure rate, progression involving pelvic organs or extending beyond the peritoneal cavity drastically diminishes it.
