Clinical trials have shown favorable effects of exercise on frailty, supporting physical activity (PA) as a treatment and prevention strategy. Proteomics studies suggest that PA alters levels of many proteins, some of which may function as molecules in the biological processes underlying frailty. However, these studies have focused on structured exercise programs or cross-sectional PA-protein associations.

Acute diverticulitis (AD), an inflammatory complication of diverticulosis, affects around 4% of individuals with diverticulosis, with increased incidence in older populations. This study aims to assess the impact of sarcopenia, the age-related loss of muscle mass, on the clinical decision-making and outcomes of patients with AD. People with HIV (PWH) are living longer and experiencing a greater burden of morbidity from non-AIDS-defining conditions. Chronically treated HIV disease is associated with ongoing systemic inflammation that contributes to the development of chronic conditions (eg, cardiovascular disease) and geriatric syndromes (eg, frailty). Apart from HIV disease, a progressive increase in systemic inflammation is a characteristic feature of biologic aging, a process described as "inflammaging.

Background: Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) is an immunosuppressant commonly used for treating autoimmune diseases.
Case Presentation: We report a diagnostically challenging case of MMF-induced colitis in a patient after 3 years of initiation of MMF therapy. A 76-year-old Caucasian female with a history of Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy receiving MMF presented to the hospital with a 7-weeks history of watery diarrhoea and crampy abdominal pains.
