Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are widely used in a variety of fields such as aviation, aerospace, marine, and industry due to their high angular position accuracy, energy conversion efficiency, and fast response. However, driving errors caused by the non-ideal characteristics of the driver negatively affect motor control accuracy. Compensating for the errors arising from the non-ideal characteristics of the driver demonstrates substantial practical value in enhancing control accuracy, improving dynamic performance, minimizing vibration and noise, optimizing energy efficiency, and bolstering system robustness.

Development of Piezoelectric Inertial Rotary Motor for Free-Space Optical Communication Systems.

Micromachines (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Applied Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, LT-10223 Vilnius, Lithuania.

This paper presents the design, development, and investigation of a novel piezoelectric inertial motor whose target application is the low Earth orbit (LEO) temperature conditions. The motor utilizes the inertial stick-slip principle, driven by the first bending mode of three piezoelectric bimorph plates, and is compact and lightweight, with a total volume of 443 cm and a mass of 28.14 g.

Effect of Microsize and Nanosize TiO on Porous Mullite-Alumina Ceramic Prepared by Slip Casting.

Materials (Basel)

December 2024

Institute of Materials and Surface Engineering, Faculty of Natural Science and Technology, Riga Technical University, Paula Valdena st. 3/7, LV-1048 Riga, Latvia.

Sintered porous mullite-alumina ceramics are obtained from the concentrated suspension of powdered raw materials such as kaolin, gamma and alpha AlO, and amorphous SiO, mainly by a solid-state reaction with the presence of a liquid phase. The modification of mullite ceramic is achieved by the use of micro- and nanosize TiO powders. The phase compositions were measured using an X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) Rigaku Ultima+ (Tokyo, Japan) and microstructures of the sintered specimens were analysed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Hitachi TM3000-TableTop (Tokyo, Japan).

To investigate the dynamic complexity of chain-to-chain output decisions in a closed-loop supply chain system of cross-border e-commerce (CBEC), this study decomposes the system into four product-market (PM) chains, based on the e-commerce platform's information-sharing strategy and the manufacturer's selected logistics mode (direct mail or bonded warehouse). By combining game theory with complex systems theory, discrete dynamic models for output competition among PM chains under four scenarios are constructed. The Nash equilibrium solution and stability conditions of the models are derived according to the principles of nonlinear dynamics.

Objective: To explore the effects of acupuncture in comparison with sham acupuncture on cognitive functions in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS).

Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, 31 RRMS patients in the acupuncture group were treated with traditional Chinese acupuncture based on the treatment principle of calming the mind, reinforcing qi and blood, and 31 patients in the control group were treated with sham acupuncture (shallow needling at non-acupuncture points) twice a week for 12 weeks. The primary outcome was the Brief International Cognitive Assessment for Multiple Sclerosis (BICAMS) score, which was evaluated by a psychologist at baseline and after 12 weeks of treatment.
