Background/objectives: Pregnant and postpartum women have a higher risk for developing severe Covid-19 and other clinical and obstetric complications. This study aims to evaluate the frequency of metabolic acidosis with elevated anion gap and describe a case series of euglycemic ketoacidosis (EKA) in pregnant and postpartum women with severe confirmed or suspected Covid-19.
Materials And Methods: Observational retrospective study carried in a reference intensive care unit from May 2020 to June 2022.

Background: HIV risk behavior in women who use drugs is related to myriad psychosocial issues, including incarceration. The experience of incarceration elevates women's HIV risk by disrupting social networks, housing, employment, and access to health care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, changes in criminal-legal practices resulted in decreased incarceration, especially among women.

The term "health surveillance" encompasses a wide range of activities, including the monitoring and observation of harms and diseases. We will investigate the most well-known aspect of health surveillance, namely the monitoring of communicable diseases. To illustrate our discussion, we will use the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus as a case study.

Background: In the filed of antiviral therapy, effective therapeutic concentration is beneficial to shorten the recovery time of patients and reduce the transmission rate. The aim of this study is to retrospectively analyze the factors that lead to the drug concentration of Nirmatrelvir /Ritonavir (NMV/RTV) not reaching the standard.
Methods: In this study, the NMV/RTV drug concentration(Cnmv/rtv) data (n = 114) of COVID-19 patients over 18 years old were collected from May 2022 to July 2022, and the results of the patients were retrospectively compared.

Current guidelines tend to focus on a p-value threshold of a pre-specified primary endpoint tested in randomized controlled clinical trials to determine a treatment effect for a specific drug. However, a p-value does not always provide evidence on the treatment effect of a drug, especially when stratification of the data does not account for unforeseen variables introduced into the analysis. We report and discuss a rare case in which investigational site stratification in the pre-specified analysis method of a primary endpoint results in a loss of statistical power in the evaluation of the treatment effect due to data attrition of almost 17% of outcome data in the phase III randomized, controlled PANAMO study in critically ill COVID-19 patients.
