It is crucial to improve printing frequency and ink droplet quality in thermal inkjet printing. This paper proposed a hemispherical chamber, and we used the CFD (computational fluid dynamics model) to simulate the inkjet process. During the whole simulation process, we first researched the hemispherical chamber's inkjet state equipped with straight, conical shrinkage, and conical diffusion nozzles. Based on the broken time and volume of the liquid column, the nozzle geometry of the hemispherical chamber was determined to be a conical shrinkage nozzle with a specific size of 15 µm in height and 15 µm in diameter at the top, and 20 µm in diameter at the bottom. Next, we researched the inkjet performance of the square chamber, the round chamber, and the trapezoidal chamber. The round chamber showed the best inkjet performance using 1.8 µs as the driving time and 10 MPa as the maximum bubble pressure. After that, we compared the existing thermal inkjet printing heads. The results showed that the hemispherical chamber inkjet head had the best performance, achieving 30 KHz high-frequency printing and having the most significant volume ratio of droplet to the chamber, reaching 14.9%. As opposed to the current 15 KHz printing frequency of the thermal inkjet heads, the hemispherical chamber inkjet head has higher inkjet performance, and the volume ratio between the droplet and the chamber meets the range standard of 10-15%. The hemispherical chamber structure can be applied to thermal inkjet printing, office printing, 3D printing, and bio-printing.

A new outdoor atmospheric simulation chamber with a volume of ∼100 m, the largest one in Asia, was recently constructed in the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing, China). This Atmospheric Environment Simulation System (AESS-RCEES) is a hemispherical-shaped photoreactor constructed using sixteen stainless-steel brackets covered by double-layer Teflon film, offering two advantages over other outdoor chambers: 1) The AESS-RCEES effectively minimizes the "greenhouse effect" by continuously circulating cooling air through the double layer, resulting in mean temperature differences between the inside and outside of around 12 °C in winter and 9 °C in summer. 2) The chamber can quickly introduce ambient air through a special inlet system, completely replacing the air inside within 45 min.

This paper describes a method by which surface-reaction kinetics can be measured by slowly and precisely ramping up the surface temperature at a constant rate while simultaneously collecting X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS). This approach results in the collection of a large amount of data over relatively small temperature steps to produce quasi-continuous kinetic data. The method is illustrated for the desorption and reaction of diethyl disulfide (DEDS) on a Au(111) substrate in ultrahigh vacuum, where the results can be compared with previous conventional temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) data from Au(111).

Range uncertainty in carbon ion therapy can diminish treatment efficacy because it may cause deviation from the planned dose distribution. The precise and accurate determination of relative stopping power (RSP) maps of carbon ions in the patient is a direct solution to this problem. To obtain RSP maps in patients undergoing carbon ion radiography, our team developed a preliminary prototype of a composite ionization chamber detection (CICD) system.

Aim: To analyze and summarize the clinical and pathological features of ciliary body medulloepithelioma.
Methods: The clinical and pathological data of 11 patients (11 eyes) who were diagnosed with ciliary body medulloepithelioma at Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University, from 2007 to 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.
Results: The initial symptoms of 11 patients included vision loss (6 eyes), atrophia bulbi (1 eye), proptosis (2 eyes), and leukocoria (2 eyes).
