Sustainable manufacturing has grown into a major subject of discussion between individuals and organisations around the world. This is attributed to the recognition of the urgency in advancing sustainable manufacturing due to the diminishing non-renewable resources, stricter regulations related to environmental impacts and the increasing consumer preference for environmental-friendly products. However, manufacturing companies have been confronted with a decision on which KPIs to select for appraising their processes, and how they should interpret these KPIs in transforming their processes towards a sustainable future. This paper presents a structured framework for the manufacturing industries to identify the right environmental KPIs. It includes building a database for environmental KPIs, categorising, ranking, and composing a final KPI set for specified targets. The developed method allows for the selection of the most effective KPI in representing a specified target as well as identifying unmonitored environmental aspects. The framework has been corroborated by subject matter and industry experts in which the potential benefits have been verified.

The objective of this narrative review is to provide a systematic framework for veterinarians to investigate dairy calf health, focusing on critical control points and key performance indicators (KPIs) to address morbidity and mortality challenges in preweaned calves. Recommendations target prenatal maternal nutrition, heat stress abatement, and optimal calving management to minimize risks associated with perinatal mortality and preweaning morbidity. Further, comprehensive colostrum management is discussed to ensure excellent transfer of passive immunity, which includes prompt collection and feeding within two hours of birth at a volume of 8.

Background This comparative study evaluates the performance of medical/surgical and mixed intensive care units (ICUs) at a tertiary care university hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, using key performance indicators (KPIs). Since its establishment in 1982, the hospital has provided comprehensive medical services, including specialized, closed-model ICUs, including medical, surgical, and pediatric ICUs. In 2021, these ICUs transitioned to a mixed ICU model to enhance efficiency and patient care.

A survey of industry groups including nutritionists, producers, feed manufacturers, and technical personnel in broiler and layer operations within the Australian poultry industry was completed to determine the industry's present views of max-profit and stochastic feed formulation and the barriers they see to implementing these techniques. A total of 32 responses were collected, made up of 17 nutritionists, 4 feed manufacturers, 5 producers, and 6 technical personnel. The survey revealed interest and need to implement stochastic and max-profit feed formulation techniques and identified the key barriers to the implementation of these feed formulation techniques.
