Despite all the psychological advantages of alprazolam, its long list of toxic properties and interactions has caused concern and highlighted the need for a reliable sensing method. In this study, we developed a simple, highly sensitive electrochemical nanobiosensor to determine the desirable dose of alprazolam, averting the undesirable consequences of overdose. Gold nanourchins (AuNUs) and iron-nickel reduced graphene oxide (Fe-Ni@rGO) were immobilized on a glassy carbon electrode, which was treated beforehand. The electrode surface was characterized using cyclic voltammetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and differential pulse voltammetry. The fabricated sensor showed two linear ranges (4 to 500 µg L and 1 to 50 mg L), low limit of detection (1 µg L), high sensitivity, good repeatability, and good recovery. Increased -OH and carboxyl (-COOH) groups on the electrode surface, resulting in improved the adsorption of alprazolam and thus lower limit of detection. This nanobiosensor could detect alprazolam powder dissolved in diluted blood serum; we also studied other benzodiazepine drugs (clonazepam, oxazepam, and diazepam) with this nanobiosensor, and results were sensible, with a significant difference.

To enhance the biomarker diagnostics sensitivity and selectivity of human papillomavirus type 16 oncoprotein E7 (HPV16 E7) in serum, a label/enzyme-free electrochemical detection platform was developed. This platform featured a type of "Super-turn-off" nanobiosensor monitored through differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). It integrated the magnetic self-assembly property of the α-FeO/FeO@Au/Sub/BSA signal transport nano-medium with the high specificity of CRISPR/Cas14a and the amplification capability of the bipedal walker (DNA walker composed of two ssDNA strands), resulting in the enhanced specificity and anti-interference performance while remaining stable at 4 °C for over 30 days.

This work presents a robust strategy for quantifying overlapping electrochemical signatures originating from complex mixtures and real human plasma samples using nickel-based electrochemical sensors and machine learning (ML). This strategy enables the detection of a panel of analytes without being limited by the selectivity of the transducer material and leaving accommodation of interference analysis to ML models. Here, we fabricated a non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor for L-lactic acid detection in complex mixtures and human plasma samples using nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticle-modified glassy carbon electrodes (GCE).

Advances in the field of nanomaterials are laying the foundation for the fabrication of nanosensors that are sensitive, selective, specific, cost-effective, biocompatible, and versatile. Being highly sensitive and selective, nanosensors are crucial in detecting small quantities of analytes and early diagnosis of diseases. These devices, operating on the nanoscale, detect signals, such as physical, chemical, optical, electrochemical, or biological, and then transduce them into a readable form.

A novel nanobiosensor was constructed by in situ locating nanometer MnO particles with controllable size and morphology in a Zr-MOF substrate to serve as an electrochemical probe. The synergistic effect of the two components, Zr-MOFs with high specific surface area and compatibility as a carrier for MnO, resulted in improved electrochemical activity and excellent electrochemical identification performance for the MnO@Zr-MOF/GCE biosensor. Under optimized experimental conditions and using CV and DPV technology, the biosensor showed a wide linear detection range (2-200 μM), a low detection limit (2.

In this paper, we report an inexpensive and easy-to-engineer flexible nanobiosensor electrode platform by exploring a nonconductive overhead projector (OHP) sheet for sweat Neuropeptide-Y (NPY) detection, a potential biomarker for stress, cardiovascular regulation, appetite, etc. We converted a nonconductive OHP sheet into a conductive nanobiosensor electrode platform with a hybrid polymerization method, which consists of interfacial polymerization of pyrrole and a template-free electropolymerization technique to decorate the electrode platform with poly(EDOT-COOH--EDOT-EG3) nanotubes. The selection of poly(EDOT-COOH) features an easy conjugation of NPY antibody (NPY-Ab) through EDC/Sulfo-NHS coupling chemistry, while poly(EDOT-EG3) is best known to reduce nonspecific binding of biomolecules.
