As part of simulation-based learning, it is well known that debriefing plays a crucial role; ineffective debriefing can lead to a reiteration of errors in decision-making and a poor understanding of one's limitations, compromising the learner's psychological safety and making future simulated learning experiences less effective. In Italy, although simulation has been used in nursing education for more than 20 years, there is a general lack of data regarding the elements of debriefing. An exploratory, cross-sectional, multicenter nationwide study was conducted to identify current debriefing practices in Italian simulation-based nursing education.

Background: We aimed to explore changes in decision-related brain microstructure, brain functional activities, and functional connectivity, and their correlations with cognitive function in end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD). Furthermore, the impact of dialysis on these changes was examined.
Methods: Thirty ESKD patients undergoing PD, 20 chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 5 patients without dialysis (predialysis CKD stage 5), and 30 healthy controls (HC) were recruited for the study.

Background: 'Life Years from Transplant' (LYFT) is a measure of the predicted difference between the expected lifespan with and without a kidney transplant. The metric was originally proposed in 1999; since then, demographics of the kidney transplant candidate population have materially changed.
Methods: Using contemporary SRTR data, we propose more sophisticated methods for estimating LYFT with a focus on older kidney transplant candidates, a growing sector of the current candidate pool.

Kidney transplantation remains the gold standard treatment for end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), effectively alleviating numerous comorbidities and offering a substantial survival advantage over long-term dialysis. Despite advancements in immunosuppressive regimens and improvements in graft and patient survival rates, extended patient longevity brings an accumulating burden and complexity of bone disease in this population, which often goes underrecognized. The present study reviews the pathophysiology of CKD-MBD in pediatric KTR, focusing on the progression of bone disease before and after transplantation.
