An aluminium-abundant AlMn/γ-brass-type inter-metallic with formula AlMn, which is isotypic with γ-AlCr and γ-AlV, was discovered by high-temperature sinter-ing of an Al/Mn mixture with initial composition AlMn. Structure analysis revealed that one special position (Wyckoff site 18 in space group ) is shared by Al and Mn, with refined site occupancy factors of 0.7 and 0.3, respectively. The present low-temperature AlMn-type phase crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group (No. 166), rather than 3 (No. 160) as previously reported for the same inter-metallic characterized by TEM measurements [Zeng (2018 ▸). , 364-376].

Slopes influenced by multiple faults are prone to large-scale landslides triggered by multi-regional failures. Understanding the failure process and sequence is essential for the sustainable development of mining operations. This paper presents a method combining InSAR monitoring and numerical simulation to analyze the failure processes of slopes affected by multiple faults.

Phase transitions in the mantle control its internal dynamics and structure. The post-spinel transition marks the upper-lower mantle boundary, where ringwoodite dissociates into bridgmanite plus ferropericlase, and its Clapeyron slope regulates mantle flow across it. This interaction has previously been assumed to have no lateral spatial variations, based on the assumption of a linear post-spinel boundary in pressure and temperature.

Lung tissue from human patients and murine models of sickle cell disease pulmonary hypertension (SCD-PH) show perivascular regions with excessive iron accumulation. The iron accumulation arises from chronic hemolysis and extravasation of hemoglobin (Hb) into the lung adventitial spaces, where it is linked to nitric oxide depletion, oxidative stress, inflammation, and tissue hypoxia, which collectively drive SCD-PH. Here, we tested the hypothesis that intrapulmonary delivery of hemopexin (Hpx) to the deep lung is effective at scavenging heme-iron and attenuating the progression of SCD-PH.

Background: Placement of right precordial leads in higher intercostal spaces (EEP-ECG) improves the detection of Brugada Syndrome (BrS). Given the potential difficulty of lead placement and the transient nature of BrS ECG patterns, we developed a model to predict EEP-ECG from a standard 12‑lead ECG.

Objective: To create and validate a model that derives EEP-ECG leads from a standard 12‑lead ECG.
