The title compound, [Cu(CH)(CHP)] or [Cu(Mes)(PMe)] (Mes = 2,4,6-tri-methyl-phenyl), was synthesized from copper(I) mesityl and tri-methyl-phosphane in THF as solvent. The mol-ecular structure of the complex has symmetry and consists of four copper(I) atoms bridged by four -mesityl groups, giving an eight-membered puckered {CuC} ring. Additionally, two copper(I) atoms at opposite corners of the Cu rhomb are each linked to a terminal PMe ligand. The PMe-bearing copper(I) atoms exhibit a distorted trigonal-planar coordination mode whereas the remaining Cu atoms linked to two mesityl groups are nearly linearly coordinated.

Low-Frequency Noise Related to the Scattering Effect in p-Type Copper(I) Oxide Thin-Film Transistors.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

Department of Electronic Engineering, Jeonbuk National University, 567 Baekje-daero, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju 54896, Republic of Korea.

In this study, we investigate the origins of low-frequency noise (LFN) and 1/ noise in CuO thin-film transistors (TFTs). The static direct current (DC) - characterization demonstrates that the channel resistance () contributes significantly to mobility degradation in the TFTs, with channel thickness () controlled through the plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) process. The 1/ noise followed the Hooge mobility fluctuation (HMF) model, and it was observed that both Coulomb and phonon scattering within the channel, which increased with a decrease in , contributed simultaneously.

Dimeric Copper(I) Complex with a Disulfonamide-Bridged Core.

Inorg Chem

December 2024

Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark, 5230 Odense M, Denmark.

Pyridine-2-yl-sulfonyl-quinolin-8-yl-amide (psq) has produced the first sulfonamidato-bridged dicopper(I) complex, {Cu[κ-(μ-κ:κ-psq)]} containing the rhombic Cu(I)N core. The single crystal X-ray structure of this complex shows that two anionic psq ligands straddle the metal atoms via bridging sulfonamide N atoms to give a Cu···Cu distance of 2.9593(8) Å.

Article Synopsis
  • The reaction of hydroxyapatite (HA) and CuO at high temperatures creates pure Cu-HA phases with a specific formula, where copper atoms occupy the hexagonal tunnels in the structure.
  • Heat treatment leads to the reduction of copper ions, enhancing the stability of copper in the HA structure and producing violet-colored samples due to the incorporation of monovalent copper.
  • Copper influences the optical properties of HA, as lower temperature preparations allow it to substitute calcium and form copper-copper interactions, which results in a shift in color from violet to blue, depending on the amount of copper present.

The pursuit of precision in the engineering of metal nanoparticle assemblies has long fascinated scientists, but achieving atomic-level accuracy continues to pose a significant challenge. This research sheds light on the hierarchical assembly processes of two high-nuclearity Cu(I) nanoclusters (NCs). By employing a multiligand cooperative stabilization strategy, we have isolated a series of thiacalix[4]arene (TC4A)/alkynyl coprotected Cu(I) NCs (, where = , , , ).

Azobenzene-Attached (NHC)Gold(I) and (NHC)Copper(I) Complexes as Photoswitchable Catalysts.

Chemistry

November 2024

Department of Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology, N. P. Marg, Matunga, Mumbai, 400019, India.

Photoswitchable (pre)catalysts, N,N'-bis-azobenzene-based (NHC)gold(I) and N,N'-bis-azobenzene-derived (NHC)copper(I) complexes are reported. Trans to cis isomerization of the attached photoswitchable moieties in the Au(I) complex enables four-fold decrement in the rate of oxazoline formation reaction. Whereas the progress of the copper(I) catalyzed, azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction gets reduced by at least threefold.
