Intensive longitudinal data, increasingly common in social and behavioral sciences, often consist of multivariate time series from multiple individuals. Dynamic factor analysis, combining factor analysis and time series analysis, has been used to uncover individual-specific processes from single-individual time series. However, integrating these processes across individuals is challenging due to estimation errors in individual-specific parameter estimates.

Importance: The extent to which neuroanatomical variability associated with early substance involvement, which is associated with subsequent risk for substance use disorder development, reflects preexisting risk and/or consequences of substance exposure remains poorly understood.
Objective: To examine neuroanatomical features associated with early substance use initiation and to what extent associations may reflect preexisting vulnerability.
Design, Setting, And Participants: Cohort study using data from baseline through 3-year follow-up assessments of the ongoing longitudinal Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study.
Background: New generation PET scanners achieve superior resolution and sensitivity, but the implications on beta amyloid (Aβ) quantitation are not well understood. The Centiloid (CL) scale (Klunk et al., 2015) was introduced to promote consistent Aβ burden quantification across different positron emission tomography (PET) tracers and quantification pipelines, but was not intended to control for hardware or reconstruction changes.

Background: Spectral power of slow rhythms in resting-state EEG increases along Alzheimer's disease (AD) continuum. Besides, recent studies have revealed 1) the importance of analyzing the aperiodic component of an EEG power spectrum and 2) the intrusions of sleep-like slow waves identifiable in wake EEG of animals and young adults. Importantly, the occurrence of these wake slow waves is known i) to increase after sleep deprivation, ii) to be associated with markers of sleepiness, and iii) to predict behavioral errors at different tasks.
