Background: Lumbar puncture (LP) is a critical diagnostic procedure in the evaluation of neurological diseases. Although considered safe, complications such as post-dural puncture headache (PDPH), back pain, subdural hematoma or venous sinus thrombosis may still occur. Whether the use of antiplatelet therapy (APT) increases the risk of complications after LP, remains unclear.

The PRISM project, funded by the EU's Innovative Medicines Initiative, has identified a transdiagnostic, pathophysiological relationship between the integrity of the default mode network (DMN) and social dysfunction. To explore the causal link between DMN integrity and social behaviour, we employed a preclinical back-translation approach, using focal demyelination of the forceps minor to disrupt DMN connectivity in mice. By applying advanced techniques such as functional ultrasound imaging and automated analysis of social behaviour, we demonstrated that reduced DMN connectivity leads to impaired social interactions and increased anxiety in mice.

Objectives: To compare the construct validity, including discrimination between known groups, of three pain and three morning stiffness (MS) measurement instruments.
Methods: Patients with radiographic axial spondyloarthritis with 8-year data from the Outcome in Ankylosing Spondylitis International Study cohort were assessed cross-sectionally. Three instruments for pain and three for MS, all self-reported and scored 0-10, were compared.

Musculoskeletal pain (MSP), which impacts bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, is a substantial worldwide pain disorder, characterized by muscle soreness, fatigue, inflammation, muscle spasms, sleep disruptions, and functional limitations. MSP is predominantly managed within the primary care setting. Recent consensus recognizes that heat therapy (HT) may provide potential benefits, especially in treating chronic MSP.
