Porokeratosis encompass a group of acquired and familial, preneoplastic, keratinization disorders, clinically characterized by atrophic macules or patches with a peripheral keratotic rim, the cornoid lamella. Genetic background is recognized as crucial in its pathophysiology, while immunosuppression and ultraviolet radiation represent triggering factors. We report the case of a woman who developed disseminate superficial actinic porokeratosis following the intake of hydroxyurea for a polycythaemia vera. Clinical, dermoscopic and histopathology data are showed, and the role of drug as a second-hit mutation trigger is discussed.

This pilot study evaluated the design, usability, and practicality of the dPDT@home kit for treating actinic keratoses (AKs) on the face and scalp. The kit allowed patients to manage their treatment at home, reducing hospital visits and utilizing natural sunlight. While patients were very willing to use the kit again, further studies are required to evaluate outcomes and ascertain the need for additional improvements and support.

Imiquimod 5% cream is an approved treatment for actinic keratoses, superficial basal cell carcinomas, and anogenital warts. Severe systemic side effects associated with imiquimod 5% cream are rare, although a few cases of erythema multiforme and Stevens-Johnson syndrome have been described. We present a case of Stevens-Johnson syndrome associated with topical treatment with imiquimod of two superficial basal cell carcinomas.

Disseminated superficial porokeratosis (DSP) is a very uncommon dermatologic condition of unknown etiology, characterized by the clonal proliferation of atypical keratinocytes associated with aberrant keratinocyte differentiation. These lead to the development of the specific cornoid lamella that separates atypical from normal keratinocytes. DSP is most frequently encountered in immunosuppressed patients.
