The growing global needs for food and feed and the impact of climate change on agriculture demand innovative and sustainable solutions to protect against crop losses and to improve yields worldwide. To facilitate the timely discovery and development of new sustainable crop protection products with favorable human health and environmental safety profiles, the development of new approach methodologies (NAMs) is essential to predict potential risk and to perform safety assessment early in the discovery process. Significant advances in NAM research have been made in recent years.

Purpose: To develop a simple tool to remove retained submacular perfluorocarbon liquid bubbles (R-PFCL) and to inject recombinant tissue plasminogen activator safely in subretinal space in submacular hematomas.
Method: A retrospective, interventional study was performed where a simple homemade micro-viscous fluid control was developed to gain access to subretinal space in a controlled way. The rubber cap of the plunger of a 1-mL syringe was cut; this cut rubber cap of the plunger was fitted inside an empty 1-mL tuberculin syringe, and its end was fitted with the tubings of viscous fluid control of the vitrectomy machine.

Purpose: To describe a custom bent 27-gauge needle-guided suture snare technique for scleral fixation of posterior chamber intraocular lenses (PCIOL).
Methods: An 8-0 polypropylene suture was threaded into the lumen of a custom bent 27-gauge needle, and the needle tip was advanced into the eye from the intraocular lens (IOL) fixation point. The suture was threaded through the posterior limbal incision inside the IOL haptic loop and pulled out.

Purpose: To discuss comprehensively the varied complications after stent-less incisional or excisional minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).
Method: A review of reported complications after stent-less MIGS procedures including gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT), bent needle goniectomy (BANG), Kahook-dual blade goniotomy, and microincisional trabeculectomy (MIT) published between 2014-2024, were analyzed and summarized.
Results: Apart from hyphema, peripheral anterior synechiae, and intraocular pressure spikes, other vision-threatening complications like cyclodialysis, Descemet's detachment, corneal edema, iridodilalysis, vitreous loss or vitreous hemorrhage can also occur intra- or postoperatively after any incisional or excisional MIGS procedures.

Aim: To measure the optimal anterior chamber pressure (ACP) for safe phacoemulsification using a new tube chamber system with internal pressure measurement function in the porcine eye.
Methods: The 20-gauge and 21-gauge straight tips with yellow and orange sleeves, respectively, were covered by a test chamber combined with a pressure sensor for measuring ACP. This was measured for 20s from 10s after starting aspiration in the linear mode using vacuum levels of 200 and 150 mm Hg with a 20-gauge tip, and 300 and 250 mm Hg with a 21-gauge tip.
