Randall's plaque (RP) is recognized as a precursor lesion for kidney stones, with its formation and progression potentially linked to oxidative stress. Previous studies have provided limited insights into the underlying mechanisms of RP, failing to fully elucidate its molecular pathways. To investigate the relationship between oxidative stress and RP, we employed bioinformatics approaches to identify key genes, predict associated pathways and drug molecules, analyze variations in immune cell populations, and construct diagnostic models.

Objectives: Neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a common intestinal disease that threatens the lives of newborns and is characterized by ischemic necrosis of the small intestine and colon. As early diagnosis of NEC improves prognosis, the identification of new or complementary biomarkers is of great importance. In this study, we evaluate the diagnostic value of CCL3 in NEC and compare its effectiveness with other commonly used biomarkers, such as procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP).

Calcium-dependent protein kinases (CDPKs) are very effective calcium signal decoders due to their unique structure, which mediates substrate-specific [Ca] signalling through phosphorylation. However, Ca-dependence makes it challenging to study CDPKs. This work focused on the effects of the overexpression of native and modified forms of the AtCPK1 gene on the tolerance of tobacco plants to heat and cold.

Breast cancer is the most prevalent malignant tumour among women. Approximately 70 % of patients are hormone receptor (HR)-positive and undergo endocrine therapy as the main form of treatment; however, the efficacy of this type of therapy is limited by some factors, such as drug resistance and complex tumour microenvironments. Using network pharmacology and molecular docking, this study examined how CDK4/6 inhibitors enhance the effects of immunotherapy for HR-positive breast cancer, focusing on their effects on the tumour microenvironment (TME) and immune cell activity.

Strigolactone (SL) is a plant hormone required for plant development. DWARF53 (D53) functions as a transcription repressor in SL signaling. However, the role of D53 in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum, Gh) fiber development remains unclear.
