To exploit the -specific virome, 29 were gathered in Lincang, China. Enriched viral sequences of 22 virus families were acquired by metavirome techniques. Hereby, the part of virome in , including Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), Getah virus, and Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) were validated by PCR. Five CHIKV viral sequences were amplified, among which CHIKV-China/B2016C-1 shared the highest homology to CHIKV isolated from Italy in 2007, with the genotype as African ECS. Eight JEV viral sequences were amplified, of which JEV-China/B2016E-1 shared the highest homology with at least 91.3% nt identity with the JEV sequence found in South Korea in 1988 and was classified as genotype III. Notably, JEV was isolated for the first time in . The newly isolated JEV-China/B2016-1 could increase infectivity while passaging in Vero cells from BHK-21 cells. Overall, the research sheds insight into the diversity and viral susceptibility dynamics of the virome in and reveals new light on the ecology of other important viral hosts.

Many viruses of the Flaviviridae family, including the Zika virus (ZIKV), are human pathogens of significant public health concerns. Despite extensive research, there are currently no approved vaccines available for ZIKV and specifically no live-attenuated Zika vaccine. In this current study, we suggest a novel computational algorithm for generating live-attenuated vaccines via the introduction of silent mutation into regions that undergo selection for strong or weak local RNA folding or into regions that exhibit medium levels of sequence conservation.

SOX9 encodes an SRY-related transcription factor critical for chondrogenesis and sex determination among other processes. Loss-of-function variants cause campomelic dysplasia and Pierre Robin Sequence, while both gain- and loss-of-function variants cause disorders of sex development. SOX9 has also been linked to scoliosis and cancers, but variants are undetermined.

: To assess the ploidy status of embryos via preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A), a biopsy of trophectoderm (TE) cells can be performed. However, this approach is considered invasive, and therefore the aim of this study was to identify the optimal sample type and sampling day for non-invasive or minimally invasive PGT-A (ni/miPGT-A) in terms of data quality and concordance rates with TE biopsies derived from the same embryos. : This study was performed using 239 embryo cultures.

Monkeypox (MPOX) is a zoonotic viral disease caused by the Monkeypox virus (MPXV), which has become the most significant public health threat within the genus since the eradication of the Variola virus (VARV). Despite the extensive attention MPXV has garnered, little is known about its clinical manifestations in humans. In this study, a high-throughput RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) approach was employed to investigate the transcriptional and metabolic responses of HEK293T cells to the MPXV A5L protein.

Previous data show that the knockdown of the gene in the MDA-MB-231 cell line leads to the downregulation of gene expression. In addition, and genes are co-expressed and dysregulated in some of the same triple negative breast cancer patient samples. We propose that the co-expression of the two genes is attributed to the MYBL1 transcription factor regulation of the gene.
