Two series of Ni/Ce(Ti/Nb)ZrO catalysts were prepared using citrate route and original solvothermal continuous flow synthesis in supercritical isopropanol and studied in dry reforming of methane (DRM). TEM, XPS and FTIRS of adsorbed CO confirm influence of support composition and preparation method on the catalysts' morphology and surface features. The oxygen mobility was studied by isotope heteroexchange with CO. After testing in DRM, carbon deposits after catalysts' testing in DRM were investigated by temperature-programmed oxidation with thermo-gravimetric analysis. The lowest amounts of carbon deposits were obtained for unmodified Ni-CeZr and Ni-CeNbZr compositions. Ti addition lead to an increased amount of carbon, which was removed at higher temperatures. The use of supercritical supports also resulted in the formation of a higher amount of coke. Catalysts prepared by the supercritical synthesis were tested in DRM for 25 h. The highest activity drop was observed in the first three hours. For all compositions, close values of carbon deposits were revealed.

A novel proposal is introduced with an unlabeled electrochemical immunosensor for the detection of tumor broad-spectrum biomarker vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF165) Copper-based metal organic frameworks (Cu MOFs)-carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were employed as its substrates, functionalized with methylene blue (MB) for signal enhancement. Cu-MOFs-MWCNTs nanocomposites were synthesized successfully via a solvothermal method and were then deposited on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), with the addition of methylene blue to amplify the signal. Due to the expansive specific surface area provided by the carbon nanotubes and the amino groups facilitated by the metal-organic framework nanomaterials, the anti-VEGF165 monoclonal antibody was immobilized on the electrochemical immunosensor through covalent bonding, which could bind specifically to VEGF165, thereby causing a detectable change in the current.

Sugarcane is a major industrial crop highly susceptible to parasitic weed (Striga spp.), causing a 38% reduction in cane yield due to a longer lag phase of 20-40 days, and wider spacing. Herbicides with a longer retention and slow-release nature could allow Striga seeds to germinate and be killed before attaching to the host.

Calcium (Ca)-enhanced organic matter (OM) fouling of nanofiltration (NF) membranes leads to reduced flux during desalination and requires frequent cleaning. Fouling mechanisms are not fully understood, which limits the development of targeted fouling control methods. This study employed synchrotron-based X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) spectroscopy to quantify the spatial distribution and mass of Ca deposition as well as changes in the Ca coordination environment characteristic of specific fouling mechanisms, respectively.

Marine zooplankton communities represent one of the most diverse and abundant species groups on earth. To investigate the ecological niche characteristics and interspecific interactions of marine zooplankton, and to elucidate their role in carbon deposition and biogeochemical cycling, we conducted a study on the zooplankton community near Taishan in the South China Sea between December 2015 and September 2016. Using niche breadth, niche overlap, the variance ratio method, chi-square tests, and linkage coefficients, we analyzed the interrelationships among the major zooplankton species.
