Adaptive actions, including healthy thinking and meaningful activities, have been associated with emotional wellbeing. The Things You Do Questionnaire-21 item (TYDQ-21) has recently been created to measure the frequency of such actions. A study using the TYDQ-21 found that adaptive actions increased across Internet-delivered therapy for symptoms of depression and anxiety, and higher TYDQ-21 scores were associated with lower psychological distress at post-treatment. The current study examined the relationships between adaptive actions and psychological distress among adults ( = 1114) receiving Internet-delivered therapy as part of routine care in Canada, and explored whether adaptive actions mediated reductions in depression and anxiety. As hypothesised, adaptive actions increased alongside reductions in depression and anxiety symptoms from baseline to post-treatment. Treatment effects were consistent when the intervention was provided with regular weekly therapist support or with optional weekly therapist support, and some (but not all) types of adaptive actions had a mediating effect on change in depressive symptoms. The present findings support further work examining adaptive actions as a mechanism of change in psychotherapy, as well as the utility and scalability of Internet-delivered treatments to target and increase adaptive actions with the aim of improving mental health.

Background: In holobiont, microbiota is known to play a central role on the health and immunity of its host. Then, understanding the microbiota, its dynamic according to the environmental conditions and its link to the immunity would help to react to potential dysbiosis of aquacultured species. While the gut microbiota is highly studied, in marine invertebrates the hemolymph microbiota is often set aside even if it remains an important actor of the hemolymph homeostasis.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the rapid availability of evidence to respond in a timely manner to the needs of practice settings and decision-makers in health and social services. Now that the pandemic is over, it is time to put in place actions to improve the capacity of systems to meet knowledge needs in a situation of crisis. The main objective of this project was thus to develop an action plan for the rapid syntheses of evidence in times of health crisis in Quebec (Canada).

Hypoxic tumors present a significant challenge in cancer therapy due to their ability to adaptation in low-oxygen environments, which supports tumor survival and resistance to treatment. Enhanced mitophagy, the selective degradation of mitochondria by autophagy, is a crucial mechanism that helps sustain cellular homeostasis in hypoxic tumors. In this study, we develop an azocalix[4]arene-modified supramolecular albumin nanoparticle, that co-delivers hydroxychloroquine and a mitochondria-targeting photosensitizer, designed to induce cascaded oxidative stress by regulating mitophagy for the treatment of hypoxic tumors.

Cognitive and neural basis of vigilance advantage in soccer players: evidence from the drift-diffusion model and magnetic resonance imaging.

Department of magnetic resonance imaging, Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University, 100038 Beijing, China. Electronic address:

Soccer is a sport that requires athletes to be constantly aware of rapidly changing and unpredictable environments and to react adaptively. Previous studies have found that soccer players typically exhibit a vigilance advantage, but the underlying cognitive and neural basis for this is unclear. In this study, 27 soccer players, 17 age-matched artistic gymnasts, and 57 college students were recruited to participate in a psychomotor vigilance task.
