With the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) lowering the annual dose limit for the eye lens to 20 mSv, precise monitoring of eye lens exposure has become essential. The personal dose equivalent at a depth of 3 mm, Hp(3), is the measurement method for monitoring the dose to the lens of the eye. Traditional dosimetry methods primarily address lateral radiation exposure scenarios, where radiation approaches from the left or right, necessitating the rotation of the phantom during type testing around the vertical axis.

Background: Radiographic skeletal survey plays an important role in the diagnosis of infant abuse. Some practitioners have expressed concerns about the radiation exposure from this examination.
Objective: To utilize state-of-the-art hybrid computational phantoms to more accurately estimate radiation doses of skeletal surveys performed for suspected infant abuse.

Purpose: To investigate sensitivity of contributing factors to heterogeneity corrections in ocular brachytherapy using iodine-125 (I) Collaborative Ocular Melanoma Study (COMS) plaques.
Material And Methods: Using egs_brachy, Monte Carlo (MC) simulations were performed for I COMS plaques (model: IsoAid IAI-125A). Homogeneous dose (D) was estimated under the American Association of Physicists in Medicine Task Group-43 assumptions, with 85 Gy prescribed to a 5 mm depth.

Purpose: We conducted a questionnaire survey on the measures to be taken after the reduction of the equivalent dose limit for lenses to clarify the current situation at each institution and to discuss future dose control and exposure protection for lenses.
Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among medical institutions in the Tokai area. A total of 65 items, including personal dosimeters, protective eyewear, imaging conditions, and protective equipment, were included in the survey.

Ionizing radiation is considered as a harmful factor to health. However, X‑rays are widely used in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as those performed during cardiac interventions. Their use is particularly invaluable in saving life procedures when the risk of adverse effects of radiation is relatively low compared to the consequences of non-treated or treated with other invasive methods diseases.
