Fasciola-induced fascioliasis is a zoonotic disease with significant health and economic impacts on humans and livestock. Freshwater Lymnaea snails serve as intermediate hosts, contributing to the increasing prevalence of fascioliasis in cattle in coastal areas. The salinity tolerance of Lymnaea snails was investigated along with their distribution and Fasciola infection rates in both snails and grazing cattle in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Soc Trang provinces in Mekong Delta, Vietnam, where seawater reversely enters into the paddy field during the dry season.

At this stage in the COVID-19 pandemic, most infections are "breakthrough" infections that occur in individuals with prior severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) exposure. To refine long-term vaccine strategies against emerging variants, we examined both innate and adaptive immunity in breakthrough infections. We performed single-cell transcriptomic, proteomic, and functional profiling of primary and breakthrough infections to compare immune responses from unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals during the SARS-CoV-2 Delta wave.

Purpose: Bovine anaplasmosis is a major tick-borne disease in ruminants, resulting in significant economic loss for the dairy sector. This study aimed to evaluate the seroprevalence of Anaplasma marginale (A. marginale) in buffaloes in three governorates in Nile Delta of Egypt.

Purpose: To investigate the effect of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CAMKII) δ subtypes (CAMK2D) on sodium iodate (NaIO3)-induced retinal degeneration in mice.
Methods: Bioinformatics analysis and Western blot experiments were used to screen the significantly differentially expressed genes in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) disease. CAMK2D knockdown and overexpression models were constructed by lentivirus (LV) infection of adult retinal pigment epithelial cell line-19 (ARPE-19) cells in vitro.

Background: Establishing correlates of protection often requires large cohorts. A rapid and adaptable case-control study design can be used to identify antibody correlates of protection against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in serum and saliva.
Methods: We designed a case-control study to compare antibody levels between cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection within 5 days of symptom onset and uninfected controls.
