Background: Numerous genetic studies have shown that genes are related to the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease (CHD). The main aim of this study was to confirm whether fibronectin type III domain containing 1 () polymorphisms correlate with the risk of CHD.

Methods: In this study, in order to assess the association between three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the risk of CHD, we conducted a case-control study involving 630 patients with CHD and 568 healthy controls using Agena MassARRAY (Agena Bioscience, San Diego, CA, USA). Genotype distribution in case and control groups was analyzed by Chi square test. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated by logistic regression models adjusted for age, sex, smoking, and alcohol consumption to assess the correlation between SNPs and CHD risk.

Results: Our results indicated that -rs420137, -rs386360, and -rs7763726 played important roles in enhancing the risk of CHD. Subgroup analysis revealed that rs420137 increased the susceptibility to CHD in males, smokers, and patients aged ≤62 years. Rs360 had an increased risk of CHD in males, patients at aged ≤62 years, smokers, and non-drinkers. Furthermore, the association of rs7763726 with increased CHD risk was also observed in males, patients aged ≤62 years, smokers, and drinkers. Last but not least, these three SNPs we selected were protective factors against hypertension in CHD individuals.

Conclusion: Our research suggest that -rs420137, -rs386360, and -rs7763726 variants may be regarded as novel biomarkers for predicting CHD risk and other specific mechanisms of action of CHD need to be further studied.

Background: The associations of early-onset coronary heart disease (CHD) and genetic susceptibility with incident dementia and brain white matter hyperintensity (WMH) remain unclear. Elucidation of this problem could promote understanding of the neurocognitive impact of early-onset CHD and provide suggestions for the prevention of dementia.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate whether observed and genetically predicted early-onset CHD were related to subsequent dementia and WMH volume.

The relationship between retinal fundus hemorrhage and the severity of coronary artery lesions remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the incidence of fundus hemorrhage in patients at high risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) and to examine its correlation with the SYNTAX score, a tool used to assess the complexity of coronary artery disease. This retrospective study consecutively enrolled patients undergoing coronary angiography (CAG) at Beijing Anzhen Hospital Hospital from June 2019 to January 2020.

Using genetic selection, Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) has reduced the incidence rate of canine hip dysplasia (CHD). However, given that CHD is polygenic and multifactorial, environmental factors may impact the expression of this developmental condition. The objective of this original, correlational research was to investigate the relationship between the substrate in the whelping pool used from birth to 3 weeks of age and CHD diagnosis.

Congenital heart disease (CHD) represents the major cause of infant mortality related to congenital anomalies globally. The etiology of CHD is mostly multifactorial, with environmental determinants, including maternal exposure to ambient air pollutants, assumed to contribute to CHD development. While particulate matter (PM) is responsible for millions of premature deaths every year, overall ambient air pollutants (PM, nitrogen and sulfur dioxide, ozone, and carbon monoxide) are known to increase the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

Importance: A recent advisory from the American Heart Association delineated the potential benefits of developmental care for hospitalized children with congenital heart disease (CHD) and a critical gap in research evaluating the association of such inpatient programs with neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Objective: To investigate associations between the Cardiac Inpatient Neurodevelopmental Care Optimization (CINCO) program interventions, delirium, and neurodevelopment in young children (newborn through age 2 years) hospitalized with CHD.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This cohort study used quality improvement data from inpatient cardiac units at a tertiary care children's hospital in the US.
