Quality control is of critical importance in manufacturing of lyophilized drug product, which is accomplished by monitoring the process parameters. The residual gas analyzer has emerged as a useful tool in determination of endpoint for primary and secondary drying in lyophilization process as well as leak detection in vacuum systems. This study presents the application of in situ RGA to quantify outgassing rates of species released from aqueous inorganic and organic ammonium salt formulations throughout the freeze-drying process. The determination of ammonia outgassing conditions aids in ensuring product quality where ammonia release is an indication for loss of co-solvent or degradation of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Data analysis methods are developed to determine ammonia presence under various process conditions. In-situ real time monitoring of vapor dynamics enables RGA to be used as a tool to characterize counter-ion loss throughout the freeze-drying cycle.

Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) induced by rapid bacterial colonization and biofilm formation on urinary catheters is a key issue that urgently needs to be addressed. To prevent CAUTI, many contact-killing, non-leaching coatings have been developed for the surfaces of silicone catheters. However, due to the chemical inertness of the silicone substrate, most current coatings lack adhesion and are unstable under external forces.

SQUAMOSA promoter-binding protein-like (SPL) transcription factors play a critical role in the regulation of gene expression and are indispensable in orchestrating plant growth and development while also improving resistance to environmental stressors. Although it has been identified across a wide array of plant species, there have been no comprehensive studies on the gene family in centipedegrass [ (Munro) Hack.], which is an important warm-season perennial C4 turfgrass.

Cycloparaphenylenes (CPPs) represent a significant challenge for the synthesis of mechanically interlocked architectures, because they lack heteroatoms, which precludes traditional active and passive template methods. To circumvent this problem and explore the fundamental and functional properties of CPP rotaxanes and catenanes, researches have resorted to unusual non-covalent and even to labor-intensive covalent template approaches. Herein, we report a ring-in-ring non-covalent template strategy that makes use of the surprisingly strong non-covalent inclusion of crown ethers into suitably sized CPPs.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the adhesive, conductive hydrogel on wound healing when used as a therapeutic dressing. Herein, a dressing of PVA/QCS/TP@Fe (PQTF) was designed and prepared integrating polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), chitosan quaternary ammonium salt (QCS), tea polyphenol (TP), and ferric ions (Fe) by a simple one-pot and freeze-thaw method. In view of the comprehensive properties of PQTF hydrogel, including adhesion, electrical conductivity, and swelling performance, PQTF was selected for subsequent in vitro and in vivo healing promotion studies.

In this study, demethylated-acylated enzymatic hydrolysis lignin (DAEHL) with excellent solubility in castor oil and antioxidant activities were prepared via the tandem modification strategy. First, iodocyclohexane simultaneously achieved β-O-4 breakage and hydrogenation, which enhanced the antioxidant activity of lignin. Furthermore, the acylation reaction by palmitoyl chloride increased the alkyl content in the lignin, which can improve the solubility of lignin in castor oil.
