Fracture of the tibial baseplate in total knee arthroplasty is a rare occurrence, particularly in short- and mid-term follow-up. This case series documents the first known report in the literature of fatigue fracture of a cementless, 3D-printed, highly porous titanium tibial component. We recommend regular follow-up visits with radiographs to confirm adequate total knee arthroplasty component positioning and alignment.

Background: Tibial bone fractures in the malleolar regions are a major concern during the early postoperative period of total ankle replacement (TAR), affecting patient outcomes such as stability and recovery. Design, placement, and anatomic misalignment of implant components can contribute to malleolar fractures. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the time to TKA conversion, long-term clinical outcomes and revision rates of patients who have undergone TKA after prior ipsilateral DLO.
Methods: Patients who underwent simultaneous or staged DLO and subsequently underwent conversion to TKA at a single academic institution from 1997 to 2022 were evaluated.

Background And Purpose: This study updates 2 parallel systematic reviews and meta-analyses from 2012, which established the 1-year radiostereometric (RSA) migration thresholds for tibial components of total knee replacements (TKR) based on the risk of late revision for aseptic loosening from survival studies. The primary aim of this study was to determine the (mis)categorization rate of the 2012 thresholds using the updated review as a validation dataset. Secondary aims were evaluation of 6-month migration, mean continuous (1- to 2-year) migration, and fixation-specific thresholds for tibial component migration.

The Quantum total ankle prosthesis is a newer Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved fourth-generation 2-component, fixed-bearing implant in its first-generation design. The purpose of this study was to evaluate early outcome data and present our initial experience with the Quantum implant with a minimum of a 1-year follow-up. A retrospective, single-centered chart and radiographic review was performed on all patients who underwent total ankle arthroplasty with the Quantum implant from December 2021 to August 2023.
