Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid neolactosyl human serum albumin (DTPA-LSA) was prepared and labeled with technetium-99m. The labeling conditions of (99m)Tc-DTPA-LSA were optimized, and lyophilized kit was developed for instant preparing of (99m)Tc-DTPA-LSA. (99m)Tc-DTPA-LSA showed high liver uptake in normal mice (>96% ID/g at 5min after injection), and it could be blocked significantly by pre-injecting free neogalactosylalbumin (NGA).

Nuclear medicine plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid and parathyroid disorders. Basic nuclear medicine in the diagnosis of thyroid and parathyroid disorders and our clinical study on 131I treatment for differentiated thyroid cancer are described. Characteristics of thyroid, parathyroid, tumor scans and typical bone scintigrams in hyperparathyroidism are presented.

Red cell volume (RCV) and plasma volume (PV) measurements are performed routinely in nuclear medicine departments to diagnose a number of haematological disorders. Currently, 125I-HSA is used as a plasma tracer and 99Tcm-labelled red cells to determine red cell volume. 125I-HSA is not always readily available, leading to inconvenience for patients and medical practitioners.

To evaluate left ventricular (LV) wall motion stereoscopically from all directions and to calculate the LV volume by three-dimensional (3D) imaging. 99mTc-DTPA human serum albumin-multigated cardiac pool-single photon emission computed tomography (99mTc-MUGA-SPECT) was performed. A new data processing program was developed with the Application Visualization System-Medical Viewer (AVS-MV) based on images obtained from 99mTc-MUGA-SPECT.

We developed a new method for monitoring the cerebrovascular response to acetazolamide using technetium-99m diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid human serum albumin (99mTc-DTPA-HSA). We infused 740 M Bq (20 mCi) of 99mTc-DTPA-HSA intravenously and carried out dynamic scanning of the anterior view of the head for 50 minutes. Ten minutes after the start of scanning, 1,000 mg of acetazolamide was injected intravenously.
