The Wiener diffusion model with two absorbing boundaries is one of the most frequently applied models for jointly modeling responses and response latencies in psychological research. We consider four methods for sampling from the model with and without variability in drift rate, starting point, and non-decision time: Inverse transform sampling, rejection sampling, and two new methods based on adaptive rejection sampling (ARS). We implement these four methods in an R package, validate the methods, and compare their sampling speed in different settings. All four implemented methods provide samples that follow the intended distributions. The ARS-based methods, however, outperform the other methods in sampling speed as the requested sample size increases. We provide guidelines for when using ARS is more efficient than using traditional methods and vice versa.

Endomyocardial biopsies (EMB) are invasive procedures performed in heart transplant (HTx) patients for surveillance of acute rejection. However, patient preferences for replacing EMBs with noninvasive assays in the context of potential institutional policy changes are unknown. A mixed-methods design was used with 28 semi-structured patient interviews and 123 self-administered online survey questionnaires in English and Spanish between January to June 2023.

This paper proposes an adaptive real-time tillage depth control system for electric rotary tillers, based on Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control (LADRC), to improve tillage depth accuracy in tea garden intercropping with soybeans. The tillage depth control system comprises a body posture sensor, a control unit, and a hybrid stepper motor, integrating sensor data to drive the motor and achieve precise depth control. Real-time displacement sensor signals are compared with target values, enabling closed-loop control of the rotary tiller.

BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) is recognised as a significant viral complication of kidney transplantation. Prompt immunosuppression reduction reduces early graft failure rates due to BK polyomavirus-associated nephropathy (BKPyVAN), however modulation of immunosuppression can lead to acute rejection. Medium-to-long term graft outcomes are negatively impacted by BKPyVAN, likely due to a combination of virus-induced graft damage and host immune responses against graft alloantigens potentiated by immunosuppression reduction.

Purpose: To correct maternal breathing and fetal bulk motion during fetal 4D flow MRI.
Methods: A Doppler-ultrasound fetal cardiac-gated free-running 4D flow acquisition was corrected post hoc for maternal respiratory and fetal bulk motion in separate automated steps, with optional manual intervention to assess and limit fetal motion artifacts. Compressed-sensing reconstruction with a data outlier rejection algorithm was adapted from previous work.
