The present study further investigated the effects of fluctuated low-temperature combined with high-humidity thawing (FLHT) on the gelling properties of pork myofibrillar proteins (MPs). Results showed that compared with refrigerator thawing (RT) and low-temperature combined with high-humidity thawing (LHT), FLHT effectively reduced the protein aggregation and maintained the relative stability by decreasing the variation in the turbidity and absolute ζ-potential value. The rheological results confirmed its improved elastic gel network. Meanwhile, FLHT samples exhibited markedly higher WHC with lower cooking loss (P < 0.05). The whiteness and strength of MPs gel were significantly higher in the FLHT group (P < 0.05). Moreover, there was no difference in textural properties between FLHT samples and fresh meat (FS) (P > 0.05), due to its homogeneous and compact microstructure. Therefore, FLHT plays an essential role in holding a superior gel quality and a compact structure, thereby evidencing its potential application in meat thawing.

Micelles, liposomes, and solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) are promising drug delivery vehicles; however, poor aqueous stability requires post-processing drying methods for maintaining long-term stability. The objective of this study was to compare the potential of lipid-based micelles, liposomes, and SLNs for producing stable re-dispersible spray-dried powders with trehalose or a combination of trehalose and L-leucine. This study provides novel insights into the implementation of spray drying as a technique to enhance long-term stability for these lipid-based nanocarriers.

The corrosion of low-alloy steel in ethanolamine solution, simulating steam generator chemistry, is studied by in situ chronopotentiometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy combined with ex situ analysis of the obtained oxide films and model calculations. Hydrodynamic calculations of the proposed setup to study flow-assisted corrosion demonstrate that turbulent conditions are achieved. Quantum chemical calculations indicate the adsorption orientation of ethanolamine on the oxide surface.

Due to its high mechanical properties and low quench sensitivity, 7085 aluminum alloy is suitable for the aircraft industry. However, large cross-section forgings of 7085 alloy usually have over 40% anisotropy in mechanical behaviors, especially in the vertical direction. In this study, two-stage multi-directional forgings (MDFs) with different temperature combinations, isothermal medium-temperature composite MDF (MC-MDF) and isothermal hot MDF (H-MDF), were applied to 7085 aluminum alloy ingots.

Three-dimensional Mechatronic Integrated Devices (3D-MIDs) combine mechanical and electrical functions, enabling significant component miniaturization and enhanced functionality. However, their application in high-temperature environments remains limited due to material challenges. Existing research highlights the thermal stability of ceramic substrates; yet, their reliability under high-stress and complex mechanical loading conditions remains a challenge.

Pain management requires the identification of certain indicators to recognize pain. Various tools have been suggested to achieve an objective evaluation, including infrared thermography (IRT). The objective of this study was to assess the facial thermal nociceptive response produced by the use of cannabidiol (CBD) alone and in combination with meloxicam in female dogs undergoing elective ovariohysterectomy anesthetized with isoflurane.
