Heat and stress transfer at an interface are crucial for the contact-based tactile sensing to measure the temperature, morphology, and modulus. However, fabricating a smart sensing material that combines high thermal conductivity, elasticity, and good adhesion is challenging. In this study, a composite is fabricated using a directional template of vertically aligned folded graphene (VAFG) and a copolymer matrix of poly-2-[[(butylamino)carbonyl]oxy]ethyl ester and polydimethylsiloxane, vinyl-end-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (poly(PBAx-ran-PDMS)). With optimized chemical cross-linking and supermolecular interactions, the poly(PBA-ran-PDMS)/VAFG exhibits high thermal conductivity (15.49 W m K ), an high elastic deformation, and an interfacial adhesion of up to 6500 N m . Poly(PBA-ran-PDMS)/VAFG is highly sensitive to temperature and pressure and demonstrates a self-learning capacity for manipulator applications. The smart manipulator can distinguish and selectively capture unknown materials in the dark. Thermally conductive, elastic, and adhesive poly(PBA-ran-PDMS)/VAFG can be developed into core materials in intelligent soft robots.

Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is a metabolically highly active tissue that dissipates energy stored within its intracellular triglyceride droplets as heat. Others have previously utilized MRI to show that the fat fraction of human supraclavicular BAT (scBAT) decreases upon cold exposure, compared with baseline (i.e.

Currently, the development of red Mn-activated fluoride luminescent materials attracts a lot of attention in optical thermometry sensors, solid lighting, display, and plant growth areas. Nevertheless, the thermal stability of Mn-activated fluoride luminescent materials is still a crucial issue. Herein, a new red RbNaVF:Mn luminescent material with outstanding thermal stability was successfully synthesized through the facial coprecipitation method.

The chirality of magnons, exhibiting left- and right-handed polarizations analogous to the counterparts of spin-up and spin-down, has emerged as a promising paradigm for information processing. However, the potential of this paradigm is constrained by the controllable excitation and transmission of chiral magnons. Here, the magnon transmission is explored in the GdFeO/NiO/Pt structures.

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes localized heat to treat tumors by inducing localized tissue thermal damage. The present study aimed to evaluate the temperature evolution and spatial distribution, ablation size, and reproducibility of ablation zones in ex vivo liver, kidney, and lung using a commercial device, i.e.

Bridge expansion joints are critical components that accommodate the movement of a bridge caused by temperature fluctuations, concrete shrinkage, and vehicular loads. Analyzing the spatiotemporal deformation of these expansion joints is essential for monitoring bridge safety. This study investigates the deformation characteristics of Hongtang Bridge in Fuzhou, China, using synthetic aperture radar interferometry (InSAR).
