The systemic failure of organisational learning should not come as a surprise - after all every system delivers exactly what it is designed for. Knowledge management/transfer is a property of the organisational system rather than a particular technique. Hence, knowledge management/transfer is about the contextual framing in which learning focused on understanding can occur. Looking through a system lens any research field can be defined as a complex adaptive organisation, and its culture determines if and how learning and knowledge transfer (or shared learning) can occur. Creating and maintain a learning culture requires leadership that perpetuates continuous dialogues to achieve tacit and explicit knowledge exchange.

A foundation model with weak experiential guidance in detecting muscle invasive bladder cancer on MRI.

Cancer Lett

Preoperative detection of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) remains a great challenge in practice. We aimed to develop and validate a deep Vesical Imaging Network (ViNet) model for the detection of MIBC using high-resolution Tweighted MR imaging (hrTWI) in a multicenter cohort. ViNet was designed using a modified 3D ResNet, in which, the encoder layers were pretrained using a self-supervised foundation model on over 40,000 cross-modal imaging datasets for transfer learning, and the classification modules were weakly supervised by an experiential knowledge-domain mask indicated by a nnUNet segmentation model.

Need For A Strategic Approach To Knowledge Transfer And Exchange: Late-phase clinical trials and systematic reviews find results that have the potential to improve health outcomes for people. However, there are often delays in these results influencing clinical practice. We developed a knowledge transfer and exchange strategy to support research teams, aiming to identify activities along the research process to maximise and accelerate the research impact.

Conditional cash transfer (CCT) programs have been implemented globally to alleviate poverty. Although tuberculosis (TB) is closely linked to poverty, the effects of CCT on TB outcomes among populations facing social and economic vulnerabilities remain uncertain. Here we estimated the associations between participation in the world's largest CCT program, the Brazilian Bolsa Família Program (BFP), and the reduction of TB incidence, mortality and case-fatality rates using the nationwide 100 Million Brazilian Cohort between 2004 and 2015.

Purpose: The use of patient/family-centred written summaries to supplement verbal information may be useful to improve knowledge and reduce anxiety related to patient transfer from the intensive care unit (ICU) to a hospital ward. We aimed to identify essential elements to include in an ICU-specific patient-oriented discharge summary tool (PODS-ICU).

Methods: We conducted a mixed methods study.

The knowledge of metals concentration in upwelling areas are a concern due the higher productivity of these areas In Cabo Frio Upwelling-Downwelling System (CFUS) is high primary productivity area and has been identified as an Hg hotspot to biota in SE Brazil that has been susceptible to Hg inputs, due to growing industrialization in the region. To investigate the concentration of Hg and Se metals, as well as the trophic transfer of these metals, the present study investigated Hg and Se concentrations in 64 samples collected in net mesh of >20, >64, >150 and >300 μm, in 2012, in the region's water masses. Higher mean Hg concentrations were found in zooplankton, 0.
