Iron has a vital role in the human body, including the central nervous system. Increased deposition of iron in the brain has been reported in aging and important neurodegenerative diseases. Owing to the unique magnetic resonance properties of iron, MRI has great potential for assessment of iron deposition, distribution, and non-invasive quantification. In this paper, we will review the MRI methods for iron assessment and their changes in aging and neurodegenerative diseases, focusing on Alzheimer's disease. In addition, we will summarize the limitations of current approaches and introduce new areas and MRI methods for iron imaging that are expected in the future.

Halorhodospira (Hlr.) halophila strain BN9622 is an extremely halophilic and alkaliphilic purple phototrophic bacterium and has been widely used as a model for exploring the osmoadaptive and photosynthetic strategies employed by phototrophic extreme halophiles that enable them to thrive in hypersaline environments. Here we present the cryo-EM structures of (1) a unique native Hlr.

Due to their diverse chemical properties and high ability to interact with biological molecules and cellular processes, transition metal-based compounds have emerged as promising candidates for cancer therapy. Iron complexes are among them, however, there is a gap in the comprehensive analysis of heterometallic iron complexes in the anticancer field. This review aims to fill this gap by summarizing recent progress in the study of Fe(II) and Fe(III) heterobimetallic complexes for anticancer applications and to gather important insights and future perspectives, with special emphasis on their theranostic capabilities.

Objective: This study aims to analyze the distribution of adverse events (AEs) related to Lecanemab in real-world settings based on FAERS database data.
Methods: Using the FAERS database, AE data related to Lecanemab was collected from Q3 2023 to Q2 2024. Signal mining was conducted using frequency and Bayesian methods to identify positive signals associated with Lecanemab.
