X2CrNi12 ferritic stainless steel has a wide range of application prospects in the railway transportation, construction, and automobile fields due to its excellent properties. The properties of X2CrNi12 ferritic stainless steel can be further improved by cold-rolling and subsequent annealing treatment. The purpose of this work is to investigate the effect of cold-rolling reduction on the microstructure, texture and corrosion properties of the recrystallized X2CrNi12 ferritic stainless steel by using SEM, TEM, EBSD and electrochemical testing technology. The results show that the crystal orientation characteristics of the cold-rolled sheet could be inherited into the annealed sheet. The higher cold-rolling reduction could promote the deformed grains rotating into the {111}

High-performance lightweight materials are urgently needed because of energy savings and emission reduction. Here, we design a new steel with a low density of 6.41 g/cm, which is a 20% weight reduction compared to the conventional steel.

This research investigates the production of Cu-SiC composites by using gas pressure infiltration method and the production of Al/Cu-SiC composite by using the cold rolling method. The layers were bonded by three rolling reductions of 40 %, 50 %, and 60 %. The microstructures of composites before and after roll bonding were discussed based on SEM and EBSD images.

In this study, the crystal plasticity finite element method was established by coupling the crystal plasticity and finite element method (FEM). The effect of rolling deformation and slip system of polycrystalline Al-Mg-Si aluminum alloy was investigated. The results showed that there was a pronounced heterogeneity in the stress and strain distribution of the material during cold rolling.

In the present work, the mechanical anisotropic behavior of low-carbon (Fe-0.07C) steel processed by asymmetric cold rolling was investigated. Three different types of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) mechanisms (continuous, discontinuous, and geometric) were observed in the microstructure of the 75 % cold-rolled sheet.

We performed a machine learning-aided analysis of the rolling and recrystallization textures in pure iron with different cold reduction ratios and cold-rolling directions. Five types of specimens with different cold reduction ratios and cold-rolling directions were prepared. The effect of two-way cold-rolling on the rolling texture was small at cold reduction ratios different from 60%.
