In this work we investigated the electrochemical performances and mechanical behavior of the manganese dioxide-lead dioxide-lead vitreous system. The structural and electrochemical properties of vitroceramics were investigated by the analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra, X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), and measurements of cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry. The mechanical properties of the studied samples were determined by Vickers hardness values using the indentation method. The analysis of X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) data for the L3 edge of the lead and the radial distribution function data for the PbO and Pb model indicate the modification of Pb-O interatomic distances by the doping process. The voltammetric study reveals the vitroceramic with x = 90 mol% Pb as the most suitable for application as a lead acid battery electrode.

Materials Science Lab (1), Physics Department, Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Giza, Egypt.

This study reports the synthesis, characterization, and optical properties of ZnO, ZnCeO, and ZnNdO nanoparticles and their interactions with lead acetate solutions. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed that the nanoparticles were synthesized in a single-phase hexagonal structure, with crystallite sizes of 12.48 nm, 50.

Unlabelled: Current guidelines recommend 6-h milk fasting in periprocedural settings; however, recent evidence suggests potential overconservativeness and supports more liberal pediatric fasting protocols. This study assessed the gastric emptying of two different milk quantities in elementary school-age children using gastric ultrasonography. This prospective crossover trial involved 30 healthy children who fasted overnight on two separate occasions within one month, consuming either 5 or 10 mL/kg of milk.

Oligorecurrent prostate cancer (PCa) can be treated with metastasis-directed therapy (MDT), which may be performed using radioguided surgery (RGS) as an experimental approach. These procedures have shown promising outcomes, largely due to the high lesion detection rate of positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). We present a case series of patients who underwent RGS following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP).

Unlabelled: In very preterm-born infants, nutritional intake is important to reduce the risk of severe metabolic bone disease including the risk of a lower bone mineral density (BMD). The aim of this study was to evaluate bone mineral content (BMC) and BMD (measured as BMC per bone area (BA)) at six years of age in very preterm-born infants fed different diets post-discharge. Data on this topic so far is insufficient, and with this study we aim to supply more useful data.

To systematically evaluate the differences in the clinical efficacy of lumbar degenerative disorders (LDDs) treatment between oblique lumbar interbody fusion with percutaneous pedicle screw fixation (OLIF-PF), OLIF stand-alone (OLIF-SA), and OLIF with anterolateral screw fixation (OLIF-AF). A systematic search was conducted on both English and Chinese databases, wherein the literature was screened based on title, abstract, and full text. Literature that met the inclusion criteria was assessed for quality and relevant information was extracted.
