A revised study of the growth and melting of crystals in congruently melting AlNialloy is carried out by molecular dynamics (MDs) and phase field (PF) methods. An embedded atom method (EAM) potential of Purja Pun and Mishin (200989 3245) is used to estimate the material's properties (density, enthalpy, and self-diffusion) of the B2 crystalline and liquid phases of the alloy. Using the same EAM potential, the melting temperature, density, and diffusion coefficient become well comparable with experimental data in contrast with previous works where other potentials were used. In the new revision of MD data, the kinetics of melting and solidification are quantitatively evaluated by the 'crystal-liquid interface velocity-undercooling' relationship exhibiting the well-known bell-shaped kinetic curve. The traveling wave solution of the kinetic PF model as well as the hodograph equation of the solid-liquid interface quantitatively describe the 'velocity-undercooling' relationship obtained in the MD simulation in the whole range of investigated temperatures for melting and growth of AlNicrystals.

Kesterite Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 (CZTSSe) has emerged as a promising photovoltaic material due to its low cost and high stability. The CZTSSe film for high-performance solar cells can be obtained by annealing the deposited CZTS precursor films with selenium (a process known as selenization). The design of the selenization process significantly affects the quality of the absorber layer.

Recent reconnaissance geochemical investigations have unveiled Cryogenian magmatism linked to the compressional accretionary phase, contributing to the growth of the Afif Terrane in the eastern Arabian Shield. The Cryogenian Suwaj intrusive suite, within the Afif Terrane, displays a compositional range from gabbro-diorite to tonalite-granodiorite. The uniform compositional variation is primarily due to magmatic differentiation within parental magma across multiple pulses.

Cold stress in winter is one of the most severe abiotic stresses on plant growth and flourishing, and the selection of cold tolerant genotypes is an important strategy to ensure the safety of plant growth and development. Cyclocarya paliurus, a diclinous and versatile tree species originally in subtropical regions, has been introduced and cultivated in the warm temperate zone of China to meet the increasing market demand for its leaf yield. However, information regarding its cold tolerance remains limited.

Nickel complexes are a potential candidate for antibacterial and antifungal activity. A new Ni (II) complex, bis(2-methoxy-6-{[(2-methylpropyl)imino]methyl}phenolato)nickel (II) (2), was synthesised by reacting, bis(3-methoxy-salicylaldehyde)nickel (II) (1) with isobutylamine. It was characterised by single crystal X-ray diffraction (ScXRD), UV-Vis, NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, and thermogravimetry (TG) to study its structure and physico-chemical properties.

Climate-driven changes in high-elevation forest distribution and reductions in snow and ice cover have major implications for ecosystems and global water security. In the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem of the Rocky Mountains (United States), recent melting of a high-elevation (3,091 m asl) ice patch exposed a mature stand of whitebark pine () trees, located ~180 m in elevation above modern treeline, that date to the mid-Holocene (c. 5,950 to 5,440 cal y BP).
