Background: Pharmaceutical expenditures (PE) are increasing worldwide, raising concerns about sustainability. However, the current price index provides an incomplete picture of this trend due to the rapid introduction of new drugs on the market.
Objective: The aim of this study is to decompose PE into their components and investigate the development in Sweden from 1990 to 2022.

With the continuous increase in municipal solid waste (MSW) generation, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused by MSW treatment have gradually become an important environmental concern. This study developed a comprehensive ten-factor analysis framework using the generalized Divisia index method (GDIM) to decompose the driving factors of GHG emissions from MSW sectors in China and its 31 provinces from 2010 to 2022, including population, economy, consumption, and waste generation. The heterogeneity of factor contributions was discussed from both temporal and spatial perspectives to propose mitigation strategies for provincial MSW sectors.

Given the large and growing number of older (45+ years) people in India, inequitable access to healthcare in this population would slow global progress toward universal health coverage. We used a 2017-18 nationally representative sample of this population (n = 53,687) to estimate healthcare inequality and inequity by economic status. We used an extensive battery of indicators in nine health domains, plus age and sex, to adjust for need.

Objectives: In Pakistan, healthcare utilization is linked to out-of-pocket payments (OOP) which disproportionately affect low-income households. We investigated socioeconomic inequality in OOP and catastrophic health expenditures (CHEs), and the contribution of sociodemographic factors to these inequalities.
Methods: Socioeconomic inequalities were quantified using the concentration index (CI), and the slope (SII) and relative (RII) indices of inequality using data from three rounds of Household Integrated Economic Survey (2007-08, 2011-12, and 2018-19).

Background: The incomplete immunization has potentially exposed vulnerable children, especially from the socioeconomically disadvantage group, to vaccine preventable diseases. The schemes would maximize social benefit only when the immunization is effectively distributed on an equitable principle.
Method: The empirical study is based on unit level data from India's National Sample Survey: "Social Consumption: Health Survey- NSS 75th Round (2017-18) database.
