We studied the effect of molecular hydrogen (H) on the content of 2,3-diphosphoglyceric acid (2,3-DPG), ATP, malondialdehyde, and catalase activity in erythrocytes in chronic heart failure. Inhalation of 2% molecular hydrogen H was carried out for 40 min repeatedly (5 days) or once. Inhalation of H caused an increase in ATP concentration in both research groups, but was more pronounced after repeated inhalation. The content of 2,3-DPG increased after repeated exposure to H. The increase in metabolic activity under the effect of H was accompanied by a decrease in malondialdehyde concentration and an increase in catalase activity. Thus, the application of H in chronic heart failure reduced oxidative stress and improved metabolism of erythrocytes, which contributes to improvement of microcirculation. This allows us to recommend H for protection against ischemic and reperfusion damage to the myocardium.

Background: In USA, total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) ranks amongst the top five surgeries that require hospitalization. As a result, the healthcare system in USA could face a considerable financial strain due to the emergence of subsequent pulmonary problems. This study aimed to conduct a thorough examination of the prevalence, influential factors and medical importance of pulmonary complications, with emphasis on pneumonia, respiratory failure and pulmonary embolism (PE) following total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) procedures in USA.

Background: With the aging of society, cognitive impairment in elderly people is becoming increasingly common and has caused major public health problems. The screening of cognitive impairment in elderly people and its related influencing factors can aid in the development of relevant intervention and improvement strategies.
Methods: In this study, stratified random cluster sampling was used to conduct a cross-sectional survey of elderly individuals aged 65 years in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, through an electronic questionnaire from November 2022 to November 2023.

The aim of this study was to assess the frailty status of patients with heart failure undergoing CRT-D and then explore the predictive value of frailty for all-cause mortality and heart failure-related readmissions in these patients. We retrospectively included 374 patients with chronic heart failure who underwent CRT-D treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University between June 2020 and June 2024. Based on the Tilburg Debilitation Assessment Scale, 175 patients (46.

Background: Aspirin has proved its efficacy in reducing the rate of preeclampsia in singleton pregnancy, however, there is discrepancy about the efficient dosage that should be used. While some societies recommend daily 75-81mg, others recommend higher dosage (160mg). This discrepancy is due to the lack of randomized controlled studies that compare these two dosages.
