Methanolic crude extract of (CESD) was orally administered to female mice during the early gestation (day 4-day 8) at a dose of 500mg/kg/day. It induces embryo resorption and morphological changes of fetal maternal tissue. Histomorphology was studied by routine hematoxylin eosin stain. In situ immunofluorescence localization of IGF-II using Texas red showed an ordered expression of the growth factor in the maternal decidual cells, trophoblast cells and the embryo. Western blot analysis showed a gradual increase of IGF-II from D4 to D8 of control females. In contrast, the CESD-treated females showed resorption of embryo on D8 with disorganized in situ expression and lowered IGF-II in fetal maternal tissue. The phytocompounds present in the CESD could modulate either the ER or IGF-II receptors causing reduced IGF-II expression in the target tissues which lead to the failure of embryonic growth during periimplantation.

In order to investigate the causes of population degradation and resource decline, this thesis investigated the ecotoxicological effects of heavy metal Cu(Ⅱ) on the embryonic development of Sepiella maindroni. Results indicate significant effects of Cu(Ⅱ) concentrations on the developmental toxicity, teratogenicity, and lethality of S. maindroni embryos.

Background: Hypertrophic scar (HS) is a severe skin fibrosis. Transplanting stem cells carrying anti-fibrotic cytokine genes, like interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), is a novel therapeutic strategy. Human amniotic epithelial cells (hAECs) are ideal seed cells and gene vectors.

Background: Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) often results from neuroinflammation. Recent studies have shown that brain platelet-derived growth factor receptor β (PDGFRβ) cells, including pericytes, may act as early sensors of infection by secreting monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), which transmits inflammatory signals to the central nervous system. The erythroblast transformation-specific (ETS) transcription factor Friend leukemia virus integration 1 (Fli-1) plays a critical role in inflammation by regulating the expression of key cytokines, including MCP-1.

Background: Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a gestational disorder that significantly endangers maternal and fetal health. Transfer ribonucleic acid (tRNA)-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) are important in the progression and diagnosis of various diseases. However, their role in the development of PE is unclear.

() has caused huge economic losses to the cattle industry. The interaction between and host cells is elucidated by screening and identifying the target protein of adhesin on the surface of the host cell membrane. However, the response mechanism of embryonic bovine lung (EBL) cells to infection is not yet fully understood.
