Background And Purpose: Esophageal cancer-related gene-4 (ECRG4) participate in inflammation process and can interact with the innate immunity complex TLR4-MD2-CD14 on human granulocytes. In addition, ECRG4 participate in modulation of ion channel function and electrical activity of cardiomyocytes. However, the exact mechanism is unknown.

Deacidification and structural reinforcement are critically important for the long-term preservation of paper cultural relics. In this study, a novel approach is presented to synergistically combine highly reactive vaterite-type calcium carbonate with aminopropyltriethoxysilane-modified cellulose nanofibrils (NH-CNFs) for the restoration of aged paper. Employed as a deacidification agent, vaterite demonstrated superior efficacy at a low dosage in comparison with commercially available calcite-type calcium carbonate.

The El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is a worldwide climate phenomenon impacting temperatures and precipitation regimes across the globe. Previous studies have shown this climate phenomenon to influence Malaysian Borneo's hydroclimate. In the context of a changing climate and increasingly strong extreme ENSO events, understanding the influence of ENSO on this region, and its evolution through time, is essential to better constrain the future impacts it will have on the Maritime Continent's hydroclimate.

Purpose: We aimed to determine the prevalence and radiological characteristics of myocardial bridging (MB) and intra-atrial course anomaly (IARCA), which are rare course variations of the right coronary artery (RCA), in the adult patient population.
Methods: Radiological images of cases over the age of 18 who underwent coronary CT angiography (CTA) examination in our clinic were scanned from the archives retrospectively, and cases with MB of the RCA and IARCA detection were included in the study. The number, age and gender distribution of the cases, whether there were any other accompanying vascular anomalies, whether there was atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries (calculation of Agatston total calcium score, calculation of atherosclerotic stenosis as a percentage, if any) were evaluated.

The mammalian retina contains high amounts of metals/metalloid-selenium. Their dyshomeostases are associated with certain retinal diseases. We carried out this bioinformatics study to identify the relationships between putative retinal metal/selenium binding proteins, their molecular functions, and biological processes.
