The support systems for Swedish clinical research have been evaluated by the Swedish Research Council and here we summarize some key issues. The shift towards precision medicine and rising requirements for post-registration »real world data« is expected to affect the system for clinical studies. The emerging requirements regarding demonstration of patient value for medical devices need to be better defined. There is a need for more meeting-places between the entrepreneurial system and the health-care system. Since research/development is often not considered to be a »core activity« in the Swedish health care system, it is frequently given a lower priority. Changing this may necessitate legislation. All interviewed, including patient organizations, were positive toward participation in research and development.

Objective: In this paper, we implement and validate a set of optimization approaches that were applied on ambulance data from the Västerbotten county in Sweden collected 2018, with the objective to find the optimal placement of the ambulance stations (or stand-by positions) in Umeå, a municipality in the county with regards to median of response times for priority 1 alarms, the most urgent type of alarms (MRT1).
Methods: Here, we use data-driven approaches for optimizing the placement of ambulance stations. For a given allocation, i.

Unlabelled: It is known that in most cases of congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS), apnoeas and hypoventilation occur at birth. Nevertheless, a detailed description of initial symptoms, including pregnancy events and diagnostic tests performed, is warranted in infants with neonatal onset of CCHS, that is, in the first month of life. The European Central Hypoventilation Syndrome Consortium created an online patient registry from which 97 infants (44 females) with CCHS of neonatal onset and PHOX2B mutation from 10 countries were selected.

Background: Inadequate energy intake among athletes can lead to low energy availability (LEA) which in turn can result in negative effects on athletic performance and physical and psychological health. This syndrome is known as relative energy deficiency in sports (REDs).
Objective: To map perceived changes in overall food intake among adolescent athletes during the previous year, as well as weekly changes during a 3-month period and to examine how these changes are associated with mental health, physical load and sex.

Under sustained global warming, Arctic climate is projected to become more responsive to changes in North Pacific meridional heat transport as a result of teleconnections between low and high latitudes, but the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we reconstruct subarctic humidity changes over the past 400 kyr to investigate the role of low-to-high latitude interactions in regulating Arctic hydroclimate. Our reconstruction is based on precipitation-driven sediment input variations in the Subarctic North Pacific (SANP), which reveal a strong precessional cycle in subarctic humidity under the relatively low eccentricity variations that dominated the past four glacial-interglacial cycles.

The corrugated <110> oriented layered metal halide perovskites (MHP) are gaining increased attention for a variety of properties including intrinsic white light emission. One prototypical candidate is 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole lead bromide, which was reported to crystallize as the <110> oriented perovskite (API)PbBr [API = 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole]. This work shows that under similar reaction conditions, the same components can instead form (API)PbBr, which has a "perovskitoid" structure.
