Nickel alloys are widely used in the oil and gas industry where high corrosion resistance in chloride water or in sour environments is required. When high mechanical properties are required in combination with high corrosion properties, alloy 718 (UNS N07718) is one of the preferred choices, although it still presents limitations in terms of corrosion resistance in some applications: despite offering outstanding resistance to localized corrosion, alloy 718 is not immune to it. Its high corrosion resistance is mainly due to its high nickel and chromium contents combined with additions of molybdenum and other noble elements.

The alga contains salt and heavy metals that are accumulated in algae poses a significant challenge to the safe use of algae in soil fertilization and other applications. This study examines the relevance of algal biomass as an environmentally friendly fertilizer, thereby contributing to sustainable coastal management practices. In this study, the hot and cold extraction method were done to obtain the Ulva rigida extract.

Contamination of aquatic ecosystems with heavy metals poses a significant global issue due to its hazardous effects and persistent accumulation in living organisms. This study analyzed 51 fish samples from two species of Black Fish, Capoeta saadii and Capoeta trutta, collected from Iran's Khorramroud River during the summer and fall of 2022 to assess heavy metal accumulation in their gill, liver, and muscle tissues. After biometry, the studied tissues of each fish were isolated to measure the concentration of heavy metals (cadmium (Cd), zinc (Zn), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), copper (Cu), and nickel (Ni)).

The behavior of low-carbon steels (LCSs), a high-strength steel and a nickel-chromium alloy in HCl solutions in the presence of N-containing organic substances has been studied. N-containing organic substances that comprise 1,2,4-triazole in their structure (substance I and substance II) provide comprehensive protection of various steel grades from corrosion and hydrogen absorption by the metal bulk in HCl solutions under both isobaric and isochoric conditions. All the compounds studied reduce, to varying degrees, the concentration of hydrogen adsorbed and absorbed by steel in HCl solutions.

This study investigates the seasonal variations in the elemental composition of five economically valuable fish species from Bozcaada, North Aegean: red seabream (), gilthead seabream (), saddled seabream (), white seabream (), and common dentex (), with a focus on both essential minerals and toxic metals. Fish samples ( = 10 per species per season) were collected across four seasons, and their weights and lengths were recorded. The concentrations of elements such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, iron, manganese, zinc, chromium, nickel, selenium, cadmium, and mercury were analyzed using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS).
