Background: The Japanese quail () is a small migratory bird whose main habitats are located in East Asia, Russia, China, Japan, Korea, and India. The Japanese quail was first introduced into the Iraqi research sector in the early 1980s. This investigation aimed to identify the genetic divergence between the available genetic lines of the Japanese quail in Iraq as a first step to conducting further conservation and breeding, benefiting from studying the genetic diversity related to productivity, adaptation, and immune susceptibility.

Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is nowadays a powerful technique widely used in biosensing and imaging, offering high sensitivity and specificity for detecting and mapping biomolecules. Screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) offer a versatile and cost-effective platform for ECL applications due to their ease of fabrication, disposability, and suitability for large-scale production. This research introduces a novel method for improving the ECL characteristics of screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) through the application of CO laser treatment following fabrication.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNAs that play pivotal roles in gene regulation; they are increasingly recognized as vital biomarkers for various diseases, notably cancer. Conventional methods for miRNA detection, such as quantitative PCR and microarray analysis, often entail intricate sample preparation and lack the requisite sensitivity to detect low-abundance miRNAs like miRNA-21. This protocol presents an innovative approach that combines branched hybridization chain reaction (bHCR) with DNAzyme technology for the precise detection of miRNA-21.

Introduction: Radiological scores used to assess the extent of subarachnoid hemorrhage are limited by intrarater and interrater variability and do not utilize all available information from the imaging. Image segmentation enables precise identification and delineation of objects or regions of interest and offers the potential for automatization of score assessments using precise volumetric information. Our study aims to develop a deep learning model that enables automated multiclass segmentation of structures and pathologies relevant for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage outcome prediction.

Kawasaki disease (KD) has emerged as the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children, primarily due to the absence of highly sensitive and specific biomarkers for early and accurate diagnosis. To address this issue, a simple and comprehensive targeted metabolomics method employing ultra high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with Q-TRAP mass spectrometry has been developed to identify new metabolite biomarkers for KD. This method enables the simultaneous quantification of 276 metabolites, covering 60 metabolic pathways, with a particular emphasis on metabolites relevant to KD.
