Background: Recently, the roles of ESR1 and ESR2 polymorphisms in osteoporosis have been extensively reported, with conflicting findings. Therefore, we performed this present study to evaluate the potential associations between ESR1 and ESR2 polymorphisms and osteoporosis risk.
Methodology: All included literatures published up to April 2021 were identified by searching Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang databases. Pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated the associations using a fixed or random effects model.
Results: 36 observational studies involving five gene polymorphisms (ESR1 PvuII, ESR1 XbaI, ESR1 G2014A, ESR2 AluI and ESR2 RsaI) covering 12507 cases and 18487 controls were included. The results of our meta-analysis demonstrated the variant A allele of ESR2 RsaI polymorphism might play a remarkable protective role in developing osteoporosis under all genetic models. However, no associations were observed between ESR1 PvuII, ESR1 XbaI, ESR1 G2014A and ESR2 AluI polymorphisms with the risk of osteoporosis under all genetic models.
Conclusions: Our meta-analysis suggests that genetic polymorphism in ESR2 RsaI may lead to decreased risk for osteoporosis. Further larger studies are needed to confirm this conclusion.

Purpose: Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease. Exploring new prognostic and therapeutic targets in patients with breast cancer is essential. This study investigated the expression of MET, ESR1, and ESR2 genes and their association with clinicopathologic characteristics and clinical outcomes in patients with breast cancer.

Introduction: High mortality and morbidity of neonates with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) necessitates the investigation of novel therapies to improve outcomes. It was aimed to elucidate the potential therapeutic effect of estrogen receptor agonists on NEC-induced intestinal and brain injury in rats.
Methods: Sprague-Dawley pups of both sexes were separated from their mothers at postnatal 5 d.

The etiopathogenesis of endometriosis, a chronic debilitating disease affecting nearly 10% of women, has evaded elucidation until the recent epigenetic discoveries. Although still deemed multifactorial, endometriosis is likely predisposed in women with genetic and epigenetic alterations, which are activated by environmental factors. There are many epigenetic changes that have recently been associated with endometriosis: DNA methylation and phosphorylation, modifications to histones and non-coding RNA, and chromatin remodeling and organization.

Low egg-producing turkeys reduce the profitability of a flock by limiting the number of poults that can be hatched. Understanding the biological mechanics behind egg-production rates will greatly benefit the industry. Two lines with vastly different egg production rates are the Ohio State University E line, and its unselected counterpart, the random-bred control one (RBC1).
