The effect of corinfar and isosorbide on respiratory function of the lungs and indices of spirobicycle ergometry was studied in 40 patients with heart failure resulting from various heart diseases. The results have shown that despite difference in the mechanism of action, the use of these drugs at the given doses combined with digoxin is accompanied by a distinct and comparable positive influence on external respiratory function and indices of spirobicycle ergometry in patients with heart failure.

Introduction: The control of parasites infections in livestock is an ongoing concern, with parasites developing resistance to commonly used antiparasitic drugs. The current study investigated the destructive effect of the fungus Pochonia chlamydosporia on the eggs and oocysts of several equine parasites, as well as assessing the safety of the fungus in mice.

Methods: , , Anoplocephala spp eggs and spp.

Supracricoid partial laryngectomy is a surgical treatment for advanced laryngeal cancer which is implemented to preserve organ function, but it may cause obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) due to anatomical changes after surgery that may be neglected by clinicians. Although the gold standard for the diagnosis of OSAS is polysomnography, respiratory polygraphy is an alternative valid method with a high level of diagnostic sensitivity and specificity; since the equipment is portable, it can be used at home, with no need for hospitalization.  To describe the polygraphy result of patients submitted to supracricoid partial laryngectomy.

Bell palsy (BP) is an acquired, idiopathic facial palsy linked to lower motor neuron malfunction of the seventh cranial nerve. Several studies have identified BP as one of the many neuropathies that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients have developed, while other studies disagree.  To study if there is an association between BP in pediatric patients and COVID-19, and to examine the pattern of recovery in all pediatric cases of BP during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nitric oxide (NO) is a ubiquitous signaling molecule known to modulate various physiological processes, with specific implications in skeletal muscle and broader applications in exercise performance. This review focuses on the modulation of skeletal muscle function, mitochondrial adaptation and function, redox state by NO, and the effect of nitrate supplementation on exercise performance. In skeletal muscle function, NO is believed to increase the maximal shortening velocity and peak power output of muscle fibers.

This study aimed to compare the conventional soybean ( L.) cultivation method with integrated systems in an Latossolo Vermelho Acriférrico típico and how these systems affect soil cover biomass production, initial nutrient concentration in plant residues, soil respiration and microclimate, as well as soybean growth, physiology and productivity. A comparative analysis of microclimate and soil respiration, plant physiology, and growth was conducted between a conventional soybean monoculture (soybean grown without plant residues on the soil from the previous crop) and soybean grown in soil containing maize residues.
